The problem is you keep equating objectively good or bad candidate with them winning an election. No Biden isn't necessarily better than Hillary on the main issues but he doesn't have the unprecedented amount of baggage either. Neither did Bernie. It's just not as easy to denigrate those two to the degree they did Hillary. Yeah there's always going to be ammo against any candidate but it'd be a false equivalency to try and equate them to her in that sense.

And as far as I can tell the polls had Bernie coming out more favorably than her against Trump.

Right, people ask why Bernie might've done better in the general election and I think this is why, he can appeal to peoples' anger over the financial crisis and healthcare etc. Of course he didn't win the primary, he doesn't have nearly the cache Hillary does and we all know that ads/money give you a much better chance. He could've easily won the primary if he just attacked Hillary over her emails or other scandals but I get why he didn't, he didn't want to screw up her chances in the general and didn't want to risk not winning and screwing up her chances as well. But anger is going to inspire more voters than whatever Hillary was doing.

I think Biden is pretty likable and would have won easily. This isn't intended as a backhanded compliment, but he has a little W in him. He moved left to some degree, at least publicly, with Obama but his position on most issues is pretty much down the center. He would have done a nice job and I think most Americans would have been pretty happy with him.

I supported Bernie but I do not think he could have won a Democratic primary that way. The BUT HER EMAILZ morons were over in the other primary voting for Trump.

Bernie needed to do exactly what Obama did: win over smart, strategic party insiders early and compete with the Clintonistas instead the DNC apparatus to stop it from becoming Hillary's personal print shop. Bernie did not do that: he concentrated on message and idealism, which are great, but you also needs nuts and bolts process and a stick to the eye when the ref isn't looking (or you need the ref). Bernie thought all he had to do was raise buckets of money. That was wrong: he needed to use that money to leverage force inside the Democratic party institutions, win fights, and outplay Hillary. Obama had a killer instinct and his people did that wonderfully. But Bernie had no Rahm Emanuel. He didn't even have a David Axelrod.

Do you think there is anything likable about Hillary? Has there ever been any funny busines with the Biden foundation? They might be somewhat similar as far as where they are on the political spectrum, but completely different people.

What it tells me is Biden wasn't the nominee. Otherwise Drew would have a dozen GOP talking points about how he is the anti-Christ.

I guess my point was more the last part, they're politically very similar but you hate her due to ~reasons~

Ok maybe not so much attacking her on the emails because that scandal was really ****ing stupid and fabricated but there's plenty of things he could've attacked her on and didn't. And obviously I get why he didn't and shouldn't go that route.

Newsweek has been good the last few months. This especially nails it. I'm tempted to resubscribe to them just to support them again.

Well I backed Obama over Romney. Just because I'm a conservative doesn't make me a shill for the GOP. I would have most likely backed Biden over Trump(unless Biden picked someone really wacky for VP.)
