It's almost like, and stop me if this sounds crazy, but it's almost like the Attorney General should be making decisions about what's best for the country and not the President personally. That the best thing this AG could do in this case not personally get involved goes on to say a lot about this AG and the President.

Once again, pointing out that many R's are happy to let our former foes, the russians, take more control over places that we would like to influence.
Instead of trying to get freedom and democracy, we will let them have whatever russia is selling.

Wrong. I've been saying since the day things kicked off six or seven years ago that it was a mistake for us to get involved. The dictators are obviously horrible people, but it's better than anarchy and non stop war between the various factions.

From what I heard last night any Attorney General who heard that from the President would resign immediately.
But, not Jeff Sessions.
You can see all these people around the President wanted power/positions/authority etc. And they don't want to lose it more than anything else in the world.

Just because your party doesn't think of that doesn't make it a bad idea. We should not just let other countries take over, that's just stupid.
Have a plan to be effective- know HOW you rebuild a country before you go and destroy it. Which means that having nobody in charge isn't going to happen.
Had we helped out Afghanistan out when the Soviets left, it's HIGHLY likely that the Taliban would have had nothing.
Isolating the US from the rest of the world helps nobody, including you.
