Look at the media, it's all "Trump and Putin are buddy-buddy!" No. It's not Putin vs (insert candidate/current president). It's Putin vs American Politics overall. Divide and conquer. Basic Art Of War stuff.

No sarcasm. Putin's IQ is light-years ahead of Trump. Which isn't saying much, because mine is, too. If I had a multi-million dollar head start and big league ambitions, I am pretty sure I'd be a billionaire, too. :p

Putin has been in some sort of position of power for decades...add to his uh, "experience" in Russian government. The man will lose some battles (maybe even on purpose) to win the war. Hey, toss a bad decision in there, get a sanction or two, fine.....he'll wait.....and wait....and wait.

The WSJ ran an op-ed a few weeks ago purporting a version of this theory and it made all the sense in the world to me. Putin could care less about Trump or any other US politician, he just wants chaos and discontent in our country.

IMO the best way to handle guns is to devolve it to the state level or even lower. Simply put, guns make perfect sense in the country and are rockhead stupid in the city. 98% of the controversy about guns stems from that simple dichotomy. So let local authorities set law. Conservatives are supposed to be all about devolving government to as close to the people as possible.

You do that and they'll just flow from rural to city anyway. Look at the many states that feed New York with guns now.

And then they're illegal and if you're carrying you're in a f-ck-ton of trouble which gives LEO a new tool in fighting crime.

Well imo you are completely wrong. I mean nice Rounders reference but I am pretty sure even that is wrong. Why would you want the guy who is always scheming and cheating? You would want the people who play the game straight up. The GOP loves to befriend Worm and get bit in the butt every time just like Mike does.

BHO played straight up and people respected him for it. I know that violates every Right Wing meme out there but our standing in the world improved under him and crapped the bed the last two times people you love were in power. I am sure they were just being Kinish though and playing it just how they liked it o make things better :rolleyes:

IMO he knew the score and was trying to advance towards the most sensible American international outcomes as best he could.

Obama knew the world was complex. To demagogues like Dump and Cheney who fulminate that the solutions are black and white, and to their followers, people who talk in grays are "weak" or "stupid" or "naive." IMO, that says everything about the demagogue's inability to understand complexity and nothing at all about people who face it squarely and try as best they can to muddle through.

Bumper sticker foreign policy is for as-shats. You aren't that guy. Don't even hang out with that guy.

What do you own a private prison? That is a absolutely horrid idea. Not to mention, just like with drugs it will be one more way where you will see Blacks with guns going to jail while Whites with guns get probation.

I knew there would come a day when we would agree on something! It's funny though how certain liberals complain about too many people in jail then want to throw the book at people who unwittingly run afoul of gun laws.

I do agree with Kep that it should be the gun offenders before the drug offenders.

I actually don't care about guns either way and am on record as saying we should ixne on the unsge when we campaign nationally. There are a lot bigger systemic problems to address. I'd completely give on guns in exchange for guaranteed minimum income or even just single payer.
