POTUS 45.11: Attack! Repeat. Atrack!!!

Re: POTUS 45.11: Attack! Repeat. Atrack!!!

I'm guessing he can afford to wait for the recovery.

I did wait, and to be frank I do think the housing market in the DC area is due for at least another plateau. My old place actually didn't move up or down dramatically -- not a lot you can do good or bad with a house in farm country; either you and your goats want it or not.

Where we are moving now it is entirely possible we could be due for a rocket trip up or down. People buy in Reston just to speculate. But we love the area and the house so time to end our Hillbilly Exile.

Another big story is that there are leaks coming out of the senate intel committee in closed session. Don't they have a reputation of being fairly tight-lipped?

There are leaks and leaks. Leaks of substance related to actual investigations would be highly atypical. Leaks relating to the politics surrounding those issues are S.O.P.

The reax I have been hearing this a.m. is that Sessions wins The Biggest Loser from yesterday. Trump, well, either you already knew he was a liar and a crook and likely deranged or you'll never know. Comey could have been the loser but he handled himself well. But Sessions... man, he is all but under indictment now. He's somewhere on the "guilty in the court of public opinion" scale between Flynn (obviously guilty) and Kushner (the last firewall between Trump and the chair).

Lawyers are clever (not always smart, but clever). Maybe this is his way of leaving himself an out later. "Me? No, I never said anything about President Trump..."

Nah, this is what you get when you hire a bottom of the barrel lawyer at the last minute. How many leading law firms turned the Trumpster down before he hired this schmuck?

And speaking of leakers, Trump's been thinking about his pee tape a lot recently and just wants everyone to know that it's totally not true.

Re: POTUS 45.11: Attack! Repeat. Atrack!!!

Funny that this administration complains so much about leaks, when they don't seem to care who sees some pretty important stuff. Recall that don had an impromptu global security meeting in front of guests at his resort in Florida, or the bragging leaks that he's given to the Russians...

He can leak because he is President, but anyone else is horribly bad for national security. Just because you are legally allowed to leak doesn't remove the national security risk.

It was also funny how some of the congressmen attacked Comey on his admitted leak- which nobody has bothered to look if it was actually illegal. Most think it was ok- but they put him into the leaker bin regardless.

So wait...Trump had Hillary pee on him in Russia
can I unsee this please?

Only if you are sane. Those drinking Koolaid and tying on the tin-hat have circled the wagons, processed things thru the Faux News filter and continue on the Trump tells no lies drumbeat

Full spin in effect now- The Prez private lawyer filing suit against Comey for leaks. Does he really want to do that? Think of all the evidence that can be presented in that!

This is the lawyer that literally spelled the word President wrong, plus other typos, in his statement yesterday. Maybe he's new at this, too.

Srsly. Has he never heard of "Discovery"?

What has been seen cannot be unseen. If these criminals had half a brain between them they'd be on a plane to Moscow to beg for asylum like Yanukovych*.

* One of Manafort's other clients. You can't make this stuff up.

Re: POTUS 45.11: Attack! Repeat. Atrack!!!

How many times was Trumpy referred to as a liar? And Comey said, he was fired "to change the way the Russian investigation was being conducted". "Why would you...". "Something to me as an investigator..". "Which concerned me and confused me".

There may or may not be anything impeachable revealed, but the fact is the president is at least a lying liar, at worst a gutless, clueless, stupid, incapable embarrassment. Yet how was all of this so quickly dismissed as a, "nothingburger"?

And the world awaits those depositions and document requests.

Who is the named Plaintiff?

G'night, Jeffy Jeff.

From the closed hearing:

Fired FBI Director James Comey told lawmakers in a closed hearing on Thursday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions may have had a third meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the 2016 presidential race, CNN reported.

From the open hearing:

Comey told lawmakers during an open hearing Thursday that the FBI expected Sessions to recuse himself because of factors "that would make his continued involvement in a Russia investigation problematic," though he declined to say what those factors were.

The Justice Department, however, has insisted that Sessions recused himself only because of his role promoting Trump's White House bid, and that his meetings with Kislyak had no bearing on that decision.

CNN reported late last month that congressional investigators were looking into the possibility that Sessions met a third time with Kislyak, around the time of Trump's first major foreign policy address in April 2016.

Comey was leading the FBI's investigation into Russian election interference and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow before he was fired by Trump early last month.

If true, this implicates all the politicals in the DOJ starting with Sessions. And it would hardly be a leap to assume Trump was at minimum informed of it, in which case he's lying, or even that it was at his behest, in which case he's a muthaf-cking traitor.

Saw something- not sure how true- that a number of high powered law firms were approached and declined to defend him. Reasoning included the concern they would be paid- not particularly unbelievable as he does have a habit of forgetting to pay folks. (Always amazes me how little of this was covered. He has been in the news since I was in college for skanky business practices. I kept waiting for someone to cover it but they were too busy being distracted by tweets)
