POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

So we have legal citizens being forced to stay in foreign nations and Sicatoka is okay with it because Obama was weak despite the fact he deported more people than any other president and the amount of immigrants from Mexico actually decreased during his time in office?

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

And people like you let them get away with it ...

I'll make you a bet:
I bet I've talked with more members of Congress, past and present (Conrad, Dorgan), in person, for more time, in the last year than you have in the last 10. Both sides*, meaning Heitkamp or Hoeven.

So keep complaining that I can see that both sides are guilty of demonizing the other and that the outcome is that when the power switches the demonized size just feels the need to one-up the outrageousness of the other. And the wailing ensues, the power switches again, and the cycle repeats.

Clinton begat Bush. Bush begat Obama. Obama begat Trump.

*I won't even count Cramer. He's a maroon. And I just said Congress; I'm leaving out former cabinet level folks I've spent time with.

For example, this immigration mess is just that: a mess. The prior guy threw the doors open and walked away (save for his actions with 48 hours left in his term, meaning "dry foot"). Everyone and anyone came in; we have no clue who-what-where for far too many.

that is a load of bull**** and you know it

I'll translate your post for you: "Obama let brown people in"

This is totally incorrect hyperbole, but nice strawman.

How many people came across the southern US border illegally in the last eight years? Even CBS News called 2015 and 2016 "surge" years.

But keep believing your guy was fine just like Trump supporters believe their guy is just fine.

Residents, not citizens. People with US passports are allowed in.

I'll re-quote you - "he threw open the doors".

Yeah, that's exactly what Obama did - told the border agents to go home, and we had open borders.

That's quite a leap.

But that's what the politics says. The political Left hated GW Bush (and he earned the lion's share of it). They put up a candidate that would swing the pendulum at least as far back the other way. Now the Right is doing the same crap, overswinging back the other way.

Don't drive on the shoulders, or in the ditches for that matter.

Good for you. None of that changes the fact that you are engaging in false equivalence of the highest order.

Obama was a moderate. We didn't elect Bernie Sanders.

Obama deported more people than any president in history.

2014, 2015, and 2016 were years where the Border Patrol was overwhelmed, the southern border States were calling for help from the Feds, and little to none came. When the guy at the door calls for help because they're being overrun and you don't help, yeah, you left the door open.
