A friend of mine posted on Facebook "The first Super Bowl of Donald Trump's presidency is Super Bowl LI. Ha!!

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Actually, who is this guy and what has he done with The Donald?

Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don't always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.
— Donald J. He's the President, and he's understands that the right to peaceably assemble applies equally.

Then why do mass shootings happen in gun-free zones?

Almost all indoor spaces are gun free. Whether it's public or private. So odds are nearly 100% a mass shooting will be in a gun free zone. Gun laws will never change this. Especially private property.

People gather indoors. Malls, movies, schools, etc.

Then why do mass shootings happen in gun-free zones?

In addition to JF's abundance of common sense, theres also this.

93 of the 133 incidents (70%) took place wholly in private residences. Of the remaining incidents, only 17 (13%) took place in “gun-free zones” (areas where the carrying of concealed guns is prohibited).

So to quote Clementine Putie, Wrong.

Any predictions for what EA's get announced today?

Interesting how I just posted about how everyone is now entitled to their own set of facts last week and here we have #alternativefacts and Kellyanne Conway proving it beyond a doubt.

One hell of an administration you folks have here.

The best part will not be the administration itself, which is merely nakedly mendacious, nor the party apparatus which enables it, who are simply craven and cynical.

The best part will be the work-a-day Joe minions, who will need to keep lying to themselves to avoid cognitive dissonance. The pretzels they are already bending themselves into are miracles of rhetorical topology, and the narratives programmed by the righty media are spectacles of obfuscation.

We are beholding a four year course in mass hypnosis.

With nukes.

This is a horrible precedence.

Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to Trump, issued a response on national TV Sunday morning, dismissing the petition.

“The White House response is that he’s not going to release his tax returns,” she told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.” “We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care, they voted for him. And let me make this very clear, most Americans are very concerned with what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like.”

Private residences, eh? Something tells me they didn't have firearms, either. When seconds count, help is there in minutes.

it is EXTREMELY unlikely you would ever need a gun for self defense. Most home shootings are family members murdering other family members, suicide, or accidental shootings. Therefore, having a gun in the home makes you less safe.

The great thing in our country is that we have the choice. Most people around the world do not enjoy this luxury.

Anyone else happen to notice that Trump hardly ever refers to himself? Quite the change from the last person that was there...

I'm not arguing that people shouldn't have the choice. I have a gun in my home, but it is stored in a way that makes it useless for self defense. I'm just stating that it goes against all evidence to say having a gun in the home makes you safer. That's an 'alternative fact'.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Makes me wonder where all these people were in November when it actually mattered. How the Fark 52% of white women voted for Trump still boggles my mind.

I'm going to get a ton of hate for this, but it needs to be said again:

Who. Shows. Up.

52% of white women ... who actually took the time to show up when it mattered ... voted for Trump.

Michael Moore warned. I warned*. No one believed.

The life lesson from this? Most of life is just showing up where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there. Do it right in November and you're not standing out in the cold in January (literally and figuratively).

*What many of you construed as me "supporting" was me trying to show the "impossible" was all too possible.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

The WH press corps is playing this wrong.

The crowd size thing is another distraction.
So is the MLK bust thing (dare I say the bust is a bust? :D ).

Both are things that Trump's people can use to show "the media is against us!" And Trump's base will be so enthralled by that they'll miss out on that right now Trump has few to no expectations. That last part, few to no expectations, is something he and his team has done a fabulous, a bigly great, job of setting up. Anything he does now can and will be Trumpeted (<-- like that? :D ) far and wide. And, as a bonus, he gets to claim the media is too busy covering the distractions to give credit for what little he does accomplish.

Go after Trump on substantive issues. In 100 days the stories should all be about what has (not) been done.

Crowd sizes and interior decorations stories will get Trump another term. But those are easy to write, just like "That mooselim 'bama wants ur gunz!"

However, I expect a story about the Churchill bust returning to the Oval Office before a story of policy substance to be the lead. And that's why soon Trump will turn the WH press corps into the WH press corpse. (And that's a bad thing for a democratic republic.)
