This is almost a perfect description of what is actually going on.
He will get on TV and say "black is white" and Republican news outlets will report that "black is white," and posters on the Cafe will say things like "I can't believe the media is so fixated on what Trump is saying."

Frankly, for the last year+, the media wonders why everyone is so infatuated with Trump (good or bad), then dedicate hours of coverage of Trump. It's a vicious cycle. And now that he's president, it gives the media a valid reason to continue the cycle.
