Sorry, this makes no sense at all.

You fight in college, you get thrown out of the game and suspended. It's been that way all the time.

Does that mean fighting does not exist in college? Of course not. It does. But, it doesn't exist any more "back then" than it does now. Our memories just like to play games with us when talking about "back then." It's like the folks who talk about the good old days (in any topic). Hint -- there's no such thing as the good days, just as there is no such thing as "fighting was part of college hockey back then."

All of this started with the conversation about the goon play of Buffalo State. There is no room for a player, a team or a coach that deliberately goes out on the ice to hurt someone.

On another note. My friends and family and I traveled to the great North this weekend to watch oz . We were impressed with the fans at the Potsdam game. They treated us with respect. Although the Bears were getting waxed they never left the rink until the game was over. Great respect for their team.

It did appear the fans stayed when I was watching the video stream. Of course, the seats are a lot more comfortable now than the old bench seating... :D

I can remember a game back in the early 2000's when Plattsburgh was up big (7 or 8 to 0 if I remember right) and Potsdam scored a late goal with in the final couple minutes and the place went nuts. From start to finish the fans were still stomping their feet and acting like it was a 2-2 game for the SUNYAC Championship.

my buddies were the bouncers at Bucks,so never got tossed from the balcony or bar,now broadwells and the Shed is another story:D..and lets not forget Barneys and the rest

This is in response to " this does not make any sense". Fortunately the memory of my friends , myself and the players that played the games back in the 60's are not delusional , as you have suggested. If you had been there you would be better informed, which you are not. Over the years we have become good friends with the hockey players that played in the 60's. One of which eventually became a D1 and then a World Hockey Association referee. Just this summer we had this conversation and he verified just what I said. This started by telling a story about a current college hockey team that has chosen not to play clean hockey but just the opposite. Again if you had been there 50 years ago you would know. End of subject

Let's not fight...its the holidays. On a happier note, I was informed yesterday that I will be moving to a day shift permanently in a week. So I will be able to attend many more games! An early Christmas present for me.

They didn't clarify - by permanently - they meant the rest of this year ;)

your right saint. Potsdam is alot better Hockey team that the 7 to 1 score saturday. Oz had to get back a few players who got banged up in Buffalo. Potsdam should hold their own the rest of the season. Their forwards were real fast. The ice was very fast. The new rink is great. Did not make it there last year. I believe any of our SUNYAC teams can beat anybody this year. You don't bring your A game you will get beat. We had a nice visit in Potsdam. The owners at the Smalling motel were great. Have a great Holliday Season

agree,Mo'ville lost a close 1 last night to Utica,and seems to be player a bunch better than last yr.

I would imagine so whenever I am lucky enough to fill in....most likely it will be a few women's games next semester.
