You should have seen his amazement when he found out there was another D III hockey fan there. Although I did find it a bit odd when he complained about the cold, and yet he spends his winters in an arena. ;)

I just found out late yesterday afternoon that the Bears will be playing an exhibition game on Oct. 19th at home. No word as of yet about the opponent.

well we both agree that we don't like the Redsox, however we will never agree on who to root for in the MLB. I'm a gluten for punishment when it comes to pro sports... Bills, Sabres and Orioles.....

ouch that hurts, we have a guy in my firehouse from buffalo, lets say he gets his fair share of --it......as for me rangers,yankees,Rams...

It's the max if this exhibition game is against an American university or college... so this would likely have to be a Canadian team or a junior team or something. Unless I'm forgetting something... but it's early and I'm still shaking off the off-season rust, so I'm probably prone to missing stuff now.

<strike>My guess is that Concordia (Que.) is looking for a game since Plattsburgh decided they were done beating the crud out of the stingers </strike>

EDIT: Upon actually inspecting this, it turns out Concordia will be hosting UQTR that day. So, unless they decided there was no point in showing up for a game they were sure to lose and schedule a trip south of the border, this exhibition will not be them.

Project: Maxcy Hall Arena Renovation

Description

Rehabilitate the Maxcy Ice Arena and its support spaces including locker and team rooms, offices, mechanical system components, new ceiling and lighting systems, bleachers and equipment for ice making and snow melt.

Weekly Outlook

The project design team is beginning preliminary design and conceptual layouts.


Impact on Campus Activities
The arena will be offline for approximately one (1) year during construction.

Anticipated Completion Date

Fall 2013

I found out yesterday the game on October 19th will be an intra squad scrimmage. I cannot wait for the season to begin. Let's Go Bears!

Just discovered that Potsdam games have been preset for the Middlebury Tournament on New Year's Weekend.

SAT - 12/31 vs. Southern Maine - 1pm
SUN - 1/1 vs. Skidmore - 4pm

Middlebury is avoiding Potsdam so the same thing does not happen to them like Norwich a couple years ago :). Plus Potsdam will place Skidmore twice in six days. Weird.

By the way Saints17 is awesome

Two things here, for one you are upset that we kicked you out of the band so many years ago, and two you are just upset that you have never heard your name announced in Maxcy by the current Bears announcer.

Rumor has it that the reason they are having an intra squad scrimmage is so that the team is guaranteed at least 1 win this year! Unfortunately, I think this will be another tough season for the Bears, but I guess we will see what happens.
