Good Morning Lodge!

Life has continued to be interesting. For those who are dealing with an upper generation we found an amazing tool- The NOK box (Next of Kin). We got the lite version and it has been really helpful.
the POA is activated so now I am managing finances. Comcast SUCKs! close to 5 hrs to get things semi settled. They mysteriously keep adding things to the bill so the bill is supposed to be less and last time it was 50$ more. Grr.
Discovering that it is a really bad idea to try to be efficient. I called insurance because check was written off acct that had been closed. They told me no worries- they'd put note in acct and send another bill. Nope. Sent a cancellation notice if not pd. I called, pd on phone, set up direct bill. They sent her a refund ck (that looked like it was because it was pd 2ce). We deposited it and then got another bill saying her check bounced, the bill wasn't pd, and now there is a non-negotiable fee for late and rejected check. The direct pay? No one knows what happened to that. Oh, and altho they made mention of my POA they sent the bill to her. 1hr 42 min later the bill was pd. They asked if I wanted to set up direct pay. Nope Lets see if you can get the address right and process this first.

Take home- pay the bill. Do not do anything else until they process the bill. Then change address. Don't do anything else until that comes. Mother of Pearl. I have spent close to 20 hrs dealing with people who should be getting stuff right because I am trying to give them money!!

Meanwhile my car was declared unsafe. mr les has been kicking the can down the rd about major repairs for awhile. So this time they discovered a gas tank leak, oil leak, transmission fluid leak, ripped buchings?, trashed axle and shock absorbers. Oh, and a warning light for sensor was on. Basically it wouldn't pass inspection and they didn't think I should drive it, even in a parking lot. Bought a used car to replace- great mileage, same model, newer. We tell them we need it by end of week. No prob. Problem. They (dealership) don't have title. WTFFFF. We are driving to Maine at end of week. Last minute scrambling as we need to transport Kayaks. They came thru 6pm the night before we were to leave. (we have loaner. The title is with the State- it can take up to 30 days to process)

We decided that we will not play the lottery.

Yesterday suddenly water is emerging from the bathroom drains when we are doing the dishes. Never happened in 60 yrs. Call plumber. He comes. We had to dig out the septic tank yesterday. First time in 60 yrs something got clogged. Roots and something to do with a baffle. Fixed.

We again decided we will not play the lottery.

This is getting silly.
