Merry Christmas Lodge peeps!! It’s hurricane-ish here this morning. Hoping I don’t lose power. Off to Mae cinnamon rolls and pour a cup of coffee.

We have been in the Quarantine Bar for all but 2 games. whoops! mr les is not with the team anymore- went Admin the week before- but I could hear the bullet whistle by. Thankful about that.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Festus, Happy Kwanza etc!

My laptop got buried under stuff on my desk and I am just digging out, sort of. How is everyone? This was like a blizzard Christmas when we were snowed in and couldn't see anyone- called, zoomed, Facetimed. And the bonus- no snow to shovel!

Good afternoon, Lodge! Gopher Crew had a great Holiday Zoom last night, went WAY too late (about 2-2:30am end time, started at about 7pm). A touch of snow here right now, so I'm declaring Pile Day, and watching the Sopranos (never saw it the first time around) all day. My butt-groove on the couch is gonna get a little deeper. ;)

The holidays certainly have been different. My mom (91) is having a tough time with not being able to see family. She goes through periods where she thinks my wife and I are intentionally keeping her away. Then she realizes what's going on and is ok with it. I'm starting to think she's got some memory issues setting in and I'm not looking forward to travelling that road...

My dad is getting some of those memory issues, also. Re-telling anecdotes or "did you hear about (news story)" things. Definitely not looking forward to what the next couple years will bring. I have a feeling that the road of fully-functional to retirement community/etc/whatever will be a quick path.

White's Ferry, the last of what was once over 100 ferries to cross the Potomac River has been ordered shut down because they have no right to use the landing on the Virginia side. Of course, it is been there since 1782. It goes between near Poolesville, MD and Leesburg, VA. I use it often by bike. It is the only way to cross the river between the DC Beltway, illegal for bikes, and dangerous US 15 at Point of Rocks, MD.

I won't provide a link as there are many.
