Good afternoon Lodge. I was too lazy to come up with a password yesterday to log in, so I missed wishing everyone a happy 6/9.

Hope you all are doing well. Work is dumb and hot. I only spent 3 hours in a row out on the production floor doing manual labor and it was exhausting.

Good morning Lodge. They're testing the fire alarms in my building again this morning. They're going unit to unit to test so every few minutes or so, the screeching building fire alarm goes off. I have a big team meeting in a half hour. Gonna have to mute myself so they all don't hear the alarm. I'm totally dreading this meeting, btw. Talking about Growth Mindset training. I was watching a series of training videos last night on confidence. All I kept thinking about were those Stuart Smalley skits that Al Franken did on Saturday Night Live years ago. Ugh. I hate being an adult sometimes.

I went to a conference on this- it is actually a great model with a whole lot of good research showing how it helps people move forward. Unfortunately altho people want to tell us about it if they were to implement it they would need to be competent and not passive aggressive.

Vacation over. Back to work after a tremendous 5 days from Marquette MI to Copper Harbor MI. The 3 people I went with had never been. They already said they want to do the trip next year.

Greetings Lodge peeps. My Church had its Greek Festival this weekend. Between the timing of the Governor lifting restrictions in the state and conversations with the town, the church was able to plan and execute in a little over three weeks what usually takes months. That includes prepping ALL THE FOOD. Our Festival is usually the first weekend in June, but it was moved to this past weekend and thankfully so, given the extreme heat that weekend. Between the fabulous weather, the fact that we were the first church to host a Festival since the pandemic hit, and the joy at being able to attend an event like this, the crowds exceeded our expectations. People waited in line over an hour to eat. And no one complained. We ran out of lamb, we ran out of gyros, we ran out of chicken and beef souvlaki...I don't think that's ever happened in previous years. I'm anxious to see what the final tally way. I volunteered for 10 hours on Saturday and a few more yesterday. My back, my feet, my hips are all sore today. It was an amazing accomplishment and I am so happy it happened. I now just need a weekend to recover.

Afternoon. Phone died this weekend. Simply won't turn on anymore. So, I'm using a refurb for 2 weeks until the phone I ordered arrives (component shortage).

The one time I actually paid for phone insurance, so the refurb was free at least.

Good Evening Lodge!
Under 2 weeks until the mr retires. He just got back from Oregon (track Nationals). Now begins all the fun of trying to switch everything over. It is complicated to retire when you have all your electronics/phone thru the U. For some reason they don't let you keep their stuff. \_O_/
the mr has never owned a computer, laptop, tablet or phone. He thinks he is using my laptop. All the nopes. We have to add a line to the cell plan- I have to change my plan because I have a grandfathered one. He has always used an iphone We have androids... so none of the deals apply. Sigh.

Evening, Lodge.
I guess last week at work was a sh*show. I suppose I'm still needed there. ;)
But, gut-punch today. My co-worker over the last 7 years (directly, we were the off-site people) and over the last 18~ years overall, turned in his resignation, and last day is Friday. It's a family issue thing, and as tough as it is, he made the right decision; he even knows he did, but still tough.

Gonna miss working with the guy. This was the one case where the right hand knew what the left hand was doing; we had that vibe, and it showed in our work. There were days we might say 2 words to each other, just because (we're both introverts). Other days, we would chat about our lives and goings-on and such. Just depended on our mood.
