Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

One of my fave parts of attending the regionals last year was getting a cone at the one by the tailgate area.
I'm lucky, even though I live in what Brent thinks is the middle of no where, I have a DQ about 5 minutes from my house. :D

I can easily get myself in trouble because there's one on the skyway level of my building.

There's also a couple of Dunkin Donuts as well. ;)
Speaking of the rarity of DQs out east, the only time I've ever seen a DD location is in the train station Termini when arriving into Rome.

OH MY GOD DUNKIN DOUGHNUTS! ;)
He's likely enlisted counter reppers despite his great professing that he simply doesn't care about rep...even though he said that he's a better poster on this board because he has more rep.
What are you talking about? I told some new poster that since his rep was red, that if I was going to take tips on posting that it wouldn't be from him. I never said I was a better poster because I had more rep. I also never professed that I didn't care about rep.

Rep-wise, I care about red vs. green, that is it. And after this whole episode, I don't really care much about that anymore. Enlisting counter-reppers? I don't really have any allies on this site, certainly not enough to offset all of you.
I think I gave you positive rep...so that is probably putting a wrench into it. ha

Yeah, it must be some sort of a new flaw in the system, because everyone here at max rep dinging you should have turned you red by now. I just tried it. Not to neg rep you for any negative reason. Just to pile on and see what would happen. Apparently nothing.
You give twice as much positive rep as you do negative rep, so it would take awhile to turn someone red who has a lot of green to begin with

Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

While I really like Dairy Queen and what they offer, the hometown ice cream joints with hometown "blizzards" are even better.

Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

Dairy Queen is ok. I guess I was spoiled growing up. We had a great homemade ice cream place with the best milkshakes. I used to ride my bike there all the time. Oh, and their ice cream cakes. So good. Might be worth a trip to Westminster just for a Hoffman's ice cream cake. And if you wanted soft serve, you went to Twin Kiss. mmm. I miss home.

Here I've got a DQ in the town I work in, and a couple in Ann Arbor. My softball team usually goes to DQ after our games (we have a few non-drinkers, so we aren't the post game bar crowd).

There are some good places in mass but it takes a bit of driving... Kimballs in westford mass is a standby but it takes half an hour.

Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

I have at least 3 DQ's within 5-10 minutes of my house.

After spending a couple hours putting my grandma's house back together, on our way back home to MSP.
Didn't realize you were in Chicago; I must've missed that.

My girlfriend is from Fort Dodge, IA, and they have a place called Dariette..Man is that good ice cream..makes visiting there in the summer, rather than being at the lake, much more enjoyable.;)

Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

I just got another grey rep with no message. I wonder if these people don't get the point of rep, or are they just too stupid to know that if they are red, it does nothing? I have no idea if they agree with me, think I'm a total jack bag, or what when they do this.

I don't need a DQ - if I squint, I can see Red's Dairy Freeze from my spare bedroom. It is a happy day when they open in the spring.

Mrs. UR went to HS in Littleton and used to ride her bike there all the time in the summer. We were in Acton yesterday afternoon, so a detour to Kimball's was a must. A happy wife....

No message = pos rep. Neg rep must have a message. Of course, if you cheap basters ponied up for Extra, you would know all, see all.

Re: Poll: Rep Retirement Lodge #165: Spring Has Sprung!

Hokydad gave me positive rep. ...I don't know what to make of that.

Bright sunshine. Still waiting for the half foot of snow later today.
Boy Genius, there is no space between the "Uncle" and the "Ray." If you're going to pose as your internet hero, you'll need to do a better job.

I still think "UncleRimbaud" might be a better signature for neg rep.
