Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Pokestops are now speedlocked - approach one while traveling at driving/fast biking speed and it will refuse to drop items.

On the bright side, Niantic seems to have beefed up the quantity of items that drop from them. People are getting 6-7 items at a time now, and even more for the first spin of the day bonus and for the 10th unique stop bonus (if you hit 10 different stops in a row in a moderately short time without repeating, the 10th one will give you double items.)

Ahh this makes more sense! I've been getting a ton of try again laters!

Yeah. Niantic REEEEEEEEEALLY doesn't want people playing while driving. Potential PR and legal nightmare, and apparently some governments are demanding they do so. Plus Hanke has a bug up his *** about it being against the spirit of the game.

Ingress speedlocks as well, but the limit is a pretty generous ~35 MPH which allows for biking and riding the bus. The limit on this is a lot lower, and they didn't communicate it to the players, which seems to be causing most of the butthurt over on Reddit.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Halfway to level 27, pokedex at 115. Local park has been a Squirtle nest. 2 hours there (over a couple days) with the candy bonus and I easily had a Blastoise.

Husband was able to walk himself to a Dragonite over Halloween. I've only caught 1 Dratini.
Which park is that??

Just rolled over to level 25. Pokedex is at 99, but I am sitting on a couple of pokemon that could be evolved into new pokemon. Just trying to load up my collection first before dropping a lucky egg before doing evolving them.

Gallup park (off Huron Pkwy and Geddes), but it's no longer a Squirtle nest. Not really sure what it is now. Everything I saw there last time was pretty normal for that park. Possibly Clefairy, as I did see more of them than usual.

Not sure how I feel about the most recent changes. I like that it will be easier to take down a level 10 gym. I don't like how much more difficult it will be to train a gym up.

Did hit Gallup park up the other day. Pretty sure I'm going to have to hit that place up again. Got a lot of Nidoran females there along with a lot of water types.

Also did see that somebody had knocked down the 3 level ten blue gyms that I can see from my work sometime while I was out of work for 2 weeks. I was never in them before. Hoping to build them back up sometime soon in the near future.

7 to go to complete the US Pokedex.

Blastoise (need a Squirtle nest, Water types are tough to come by around here)
Weezing (only ever seen 2 Koffing and hatched another)
Muk (hatched 1 Grimer and that's it)
Gyarados (again, tough to get Magikarp around here, but I can always walk one)
Porygon (good luck)
Chansey (also good luck)
Kabutops (only 6 candy away from evolving)

Other than that, hoarding Great/Ultra Balls for Gen 2 if and when it comes out. Hearing rumors it may be sooner rather than later.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Pokémon to hold on to/hoard candy for Gen 2:

Onix (evolves to Steelix)
Zubat/Golbat (evolves to Crobat)
Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan (Tyrogue can evolve to either, plus Hitmontop...not sure how candy will work with these, but worth holding on to)
Oddish/Gloom (split evolution to Bellossom)
Eevee (split evolution to Umbreon and Espeon)
Slowpoke (split evolution to Slowking)
Horsea/Seadra (evolves to Kingdra)
Chansey (evolves to Blissey)
Scyther (evolves to Scizor)
Porygon (evolves to Porygon2)
Poliwag/Poliwhirl (split evolution to Politoed)

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Oh! Andandand...

Double XP and stardust November 23-30 for Thanksgiving.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Four in a row? Why not!

Massive CP rebalancing. Rhydon and Vaporeon receive massive bumps (my 100% IV Rhydon is now 2850 CP, and my 100% IV Vaporeon is now 2750.) Gengar and Alakazam get decent bumps. Jolteon and Flareon up. Victreebel down.

Power up your Pokémon to make sure it takes effect.

Let the salt begin!

I was wondering about that. I was kinda freaked out tonight after work when I was about to go hit the local gym near work that was yellow earlier in the day. Blue was back in it, but I wanted to be in it and its in a spot that you could drive right up to it. Earlier I only had 2 pokemon that were over 2000 CP. Now I have five and a few really darn close. The whole lineup was all different looking to I had to double check to make sure it was me that was signed in and not somebody else's profile somehow.

Sure hope they offer up more potions with the Double XP and stardust event. I'm running really low on them.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Double XP is now live.

Also...BIG SPOILERS WHITED OUT: Ditto is now live. Shows up on radar as a regular Pokemon, then does an "Oh?" animation after you catch him.

Also HOLY HELL I HAVE THE TRACKER.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

SPOILERS BELOW:

Ditto appears in the field as a common Pokemon (heard Rattata, Pidgey, Zubat, and Magikarp so far.) He will trigger a special cutscene and transform himself after he's caught.

Ditto in battle will automatically transform himself into the opposing Pokemon. He will have the same attacks as that Pokemon. CP of the transformed Pokemon will be dependent on Ditto's own CP/IV - the higher the stronger. I believe once he has transformed he is locked in as that Pokemon and cannot transform again for the rest of the battle.

Ditto vs. Ditto results in a pretty silly animation and neither one dealing much damage.

Ditto is a 3 KM buddy.

Giggity!!

Didn't really notice the tracker tonight. But I was just kinda mostly just focusing on hitting up some more stops for supplies.

Looks like the tracker is only out for everywhere west of the Mississippi minus AK and HI. Sorry. Should be pretty soon though - the rollout seems to be speeding up.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Just got over 100,000 XP from a lucky egg mass evolve! Closing in on level 29. Hoping to get one more big mass evolve in before the bonus ends on Nov. 30.

Got a ditto the first day it was going on Tuesday....caught a pidgey and he transformed to ditto. Unfortunately, very low CP on him.

Pokedex up to 124. Very close to Alakazam, Koffing and Electrode.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Yeah, I've been grinding it out a lot this weekend, and I've only managed to snag a single ditto. I would have thought that Ditto's would have been fairly common during this event, and then they would have dialed the availability back on them come december.

Re: Pokemon GO: Valor, Mystic or Instinct?

Caught a couple dittos the first night of the event and haven't seen any since. Even with playing way too much this weekend.

Monster, what happened to all the gyms in Dixboro? I trained one of them up Saturday but my guy was gone by Sunday. I thought those gyms had stayed blue for awhile. Let me know if I should make my way up there again. Also, if you didn't already know, the Botanical gardens off Dixboro Rd is a great place to get pokestops and fill your bag up.

I caught a wimpy one almost right away Tuesday night, then nothing until the weekend, then I caught three big ones.

I'm finding Ditto's best use is as a gym claimer. Your team members can then make him transform into whatever they want for prestiging.

They had been, but there's been some red and yellows coming through lately knocking out the gyms there. I know saturday night I had to go through and reclaim Roger Monks, Oak Cemetery, and Marshall Park. Think somebody knocked out Marshall by the time I got home. Think I'm going to start naming my pokemon so I have a better idea of where they're from when they get knocked out of a gym.

Yeah, I have gone through the gardens before. My thing is that lately I tend to play in the evenings and I don't think they would want me hanging around there after dark. That and I don't want to pick up allergens on my cloths before work, which could happen if I'm walking around outside there.
