Big 4 points on the line at the Stafford this weekend. With Lakers and Genny losing valuable points last weekend it makes it very important. Buffalo and Fredonia are games you should win at home without a huge problem. But I'm sure Genny thought the same thing vs. Cortland last Saturday. I'm coming to fan, I hope they come to play !!

Oswego and Plattsburgh Fans who want to relive past Whiteout Games - WTOP10 Sports is replaying the last FOUR Whiteout Broadcasts beginning Monday at 7pm....each night at 7:00 you can watch the Lakers and Cardinals battle right up to the live broadcast on Friday night. www.wtop10.com/live

My wife and I went to dinner at UNO. It appeared the whole athletic department was there for a bye-bye Brucey party.

Cards could really help themselves out with a 4 point weekend. Especially a win over Oswego , who is dangerously close to playing for 2nd place very early in the season. A win by the Lakers and game on. Potsdam and Cortland are the other two players this weekend and we'll find out quite a bit about both of them too. Lakers can't take Potsdam lightly, Cards can't take Cortland lightly either. Brockport plays Geneseo as well, which is another big one. A pivotal weekend in SUNYAC hockey early in the schedule.

I feel this has become one of the most competitive conferences in DIII men's hockey. No longer two dominant teams..Every weekend is now a pivotal weekend. At this time i see no clear favorite.

Cardinal Seniors are 4-5-3 vs. Lakers in their careers. That includes a 2-2-2 record at the Campus Center.

I don't remember ever being this nervous about a Cardinal team playing Potsdam in any sport...

So the showdown takes place on Saturday night at the Stafford. I'm cautiously optimistic about the game. IMHO, Plattsburgh is the one program in the East if not the Nation that you must beat in order to be able to say, "we're good". I expect a tight checking affair and low scoring. Perhaps a 3-2 game.

Before Plattsburgh basketball pulled their string of 3 consecutive SUNYAC Championships (2005-08) the Bears 2003-05 were the real deal.
