Don't Forget! Behind The Bench, Tonight at 6:30EDT WIRY/wiry.com

Ooh, thanks for the reminder! Should be interesting: there's been so little grousing this offseason that it might not even be worth the traditional mention of how the internet know-it-alls aren't worth mentioning.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I realize the risk in asking this particular question on this thread, but I have not been up to Platty since my undergrad days several decades ago - wondering if there is an obvious choice of a hotel/motel to stay when venturing north for the game on Jan 29?

I would prefer a smoke free, bed bug free room with heat, indoor plumbing that works and a bed that is convenient to the rink...:D

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

La Quinta is good. That's where Maloney and I stayed when we went up to cover the game for WNYO.

Stay away from Maggie's...I was maliciously attacked there by a drunk girl and checked into a pool table. :D

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

The newest property--hotel-wise--in Plattsburgh is the Hampton Inn, about 1/2 mi west of exit 37 off I-87. The Holiday Inn, about the same distance east of the same exit, is newly rennovated. One VERY useful bit of advice regarding Plattsburgh hotels and motels in Plattsburgh is to DEFINITELY stick to one of the national chain properties

Days Inn, Econo Lodge, Holiday Inn, and LaQuinta are all witihin a mile of Stafford. The Comfort Inn is also in last stages of being rebuilt. This past May out of town guests for my Daughter's wedding stayed at the Inn At Smithfield(Best Western). They enjoyed it there with both 99 Restaurant and Ground Round on the premises. The privately owned motels are , well I must admit, NOT GOOD.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

Does anyone know if either WIRY airs a repeat of Behind the Bench or if I can hear a taping of it somewhere? Or, if not, is there someone that can give me a summary of what happened? I don't get out of work in time to catch it, and I know last year it was put on the cardinalhockey site, but no more:(

Maggie's has since been shut down and now is in the process of being reopened as a coutry style diner..... I'd stay away from MicroTel, they have had bedbugs in the past.....

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I noticed that Clarke and Jensen were gelling on the same line together Saturday night. I KNOW that it was just an intra-squad scrimmage, but does anybody think that Emery will stick with them on the same line come the exhibition game against Concordia?

Who do think will start in net Monday night? Leis, Williams? Foley?!

I'm not thinking we will see alot of Jensen and Clarke on the same line as they are both left handed and neither of them center.....

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I see some players not returning this year. Were they the guys that were suspended last year?

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

(A Tongue-in-cheek) Memo to Prez:

I kindly disagree I think our defenseman will be just fine this year, I'm looking for Adams to really step up.
However I do agree Satim has the potential to easily be the sunyac mvp, I've said it since his freshmen year! There is no doubt he will be the go to guy on forward.

I don't see him calling Satim the SUNYAC MVP....he has the POTENTIAL to be the SUNYAC MVP. I think that's a pretty fair statement. If you have trouble with skipping words when you read, I would suggest using an index card or something to keep your place....:p
