Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

This 2010-2011 squad is AMAZING! I'm really impressed with Jensen as well! He reminds me of a Dylan Clarke. Blair Falotico is another Freshman that caught my eye. He's quick, creates shots for his teammates, and wins the 50/50 battles for the puck. Other than Adams, Kavanagh, and MacLeod...I'm kind of concerned about our Defenseman.

How about Eric Satim?! Can you say SUNYAC MVP? The dangler from Montreal, Quebec is back for his Senior go around. He was simply the best player on the ice last night.

I kindly disagree I think our defenseman will be just fine this year, I'm looking for Adams to really step up.
However I do agree Satim has the potential to easily be the sunyac mvp, I've said it since his freshmen year! There is no doubt he will be the go to guy on forward.

Little early to be calling Satim the MVP. He's certainly a good player but let's not go fellating about how good or bad a player is based on an exhibition game against a Canadian school.

I'd say the same thing to any Oswego fan that went on about how great this year's team is based off beating the high school team they beat last night.

Actually, it was just the annual red (in) & white (out) intra-squad game, also the reason I suspect the defense wasn't into risking any injuries. Nevertheless it was a very impressive game, with everyone making their claim for game time. Also, I have to agree with the comments made on #25, freshman Blair Falotico, he reminded my of a couple of past players, hopefully his future performance will tell.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

You guys are making player assessments based on a pick up game? Oh brother, you've got to get out more.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

Same assessment as most everyone else here: Falotico and Jensen looked good, Foley seemed A-OK in goal, and the whole squad looked promising in general. It seemed pretty clear to me that the defensemen were instructed to play more aggressively than they normally would in the attacking zone, both to assess any offensive prowess they might possess, and to force the goalies to face a fair number of odd-man rushes. My chronic concern - finding big-game playmakers - obviously isn't something that can be judged from a scrimmage, so all-in-all, I was very pleased.

Hey, these guys were facing the best players in DIII ;)

Just phenomenal :)

Give me a break. Like Oswego fans aren't talking about how explosive the offense is this year after putting 17 goals on some crap oppenent.

I'm an Oswego fan and I'm holding my expectations in check. As I've said the same in every post in the Oswego thread.

Thanks though :)

Okay. Well I respect your expectations with Oswego, but why are you criticizing my opinions on my team? I know it was an intra-squad game. It's not like I'm predicting a national championship. I didn't think it was a bad thing to be excited about the upcoming season.

I simply think that it's a bit assinine and premature to be calling Eric Satim the MVP of the SUNYAC considering the lack of offense Platty generated last season and basing your prediction on an intrasquad game as well when the team is not playing how they normally will in a real game.

Those scrimmage games are glorified pick-up games meant to entertain the fans with a lot of focus on offense.

This is a fan forum to voice opinions and to talk about the upcoming season. I think it's a bit "assinine" to assume that I was basing my prediction on an intrasquad game considering I wasn't there, nor did I mention it. My basis is Satim averaging nearly 1.5 pts per game, and the fact that Emery points out every year he's the hardest worker on the team. I guess it helps he was team MVP on one of the top teams in division 3. :)

In all seriousness I really like plattys squad this year!! Go cards Go

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

Everybody looked like they were working hard and ready to play. Very impressed with the speed of Falotico and Jenson will definitely make an impression also. Thought the goalies stopped alot of good shots. No need to apologize for liking what you saw and or giving praises. Say whatever you think! Some people just need to stick to worrying about their team,(Norwich Cadets),and their fans' comments instead of giving a hoot about some little comment made by a Cardinal fan who is excited about the new year! My,my, it has begun already!

Some people are stuck with teams that can't handle a whole season, so they are still waiting for something else to do.
