Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

* Random Stats...

-Plattsburgh State is 128-25-9 at home since the 2000-2001 season. That overall record was accumulated from the last decade.
-In the "new" Stafford Ice Arena (2008-present), PSUC is 26-2-1.

New update on season tickets and single tickets sales:

We are happy to report that we have reached our capacity for men’s ice hockey season tickets; therefore, we are not accepting any new season ticket requests at this time.

ticket prices per person are the following: $5 for a single game; $12-24 for PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout; $10-20 for Cardinal Classic; and $8 for Oswego.

What the heck? I'm a hardcore PSUC hockey fan, but that's pretty weird. Retire a jersey number in representation of the fans? How about they just list our overall record at home, and put something like "Protect this House" or something cheesy like that?

Anybody else think this is a little odd to retire number seven for the "seventh man"?

No. I think this a great way to start the year! They are trying to get the students more involved, get a pep band going and get everyone excited about the new season. Tonight's dinner, "Meet and Greet " was a fine example of this. Everyone I talked to tonight at the dinner thought it was a great idea. Everyone wants more noise and participation so maybe this is just the answer ! GO CARDS!:D

I hope Bruce Delventhal doesn't come on here and read that......:D

Great question. At this point, I would say no. It would be nice to see some live streaming, and this could effectively (and at little cost) be handled via a fan/press box upload to UStream.TV or something like that. I have watched a few online games and they all suffer from the same key problems - poor production quality (understandably) and no way to reliably handle the load. When resources are limited (which I dare say is a shared experience among the division), the goal should be to produce the best quality experience with whatever is available. Some schools have charged a per-event fee to view the game - which is generally a poor experience all the way 'round. That being said, I strongly believe a handheld video camera and a quality USB mic (with a laptop) would have better production quality than what is currently available via live broadcast/tape delay.

Well, I'm about to head out to the Red and White game, also known as the "Matty Cup". I'm looking forward to checking out Jensen and Farnan as our key incoming Freshman. I can't wait to watch some hockey in person. I'll post my thoughts and opinions on the inter-squad scrimmage tonight on this thread.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I was totally impressed by Jensen tonight. If there is anyone who can help light a fire offensively, I think he may be the biggest surprise of the season.

What did you all think of the goaltending tonight? Foley seemed pretty solid. Leis appeared to be in decent form; but Williams...It's hard to say if tonight was just an off night, or if there is still some work that may need to be done. Whatd'ya think?

The work needs to be done on that parking lot. When is that mess supposed to be finished? I hope by next week or people will have to park on the nearby streets and walk!

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

This 2010-2011 squad is AMAZING! I'm really impressed with Jensen as well! He reminds me of a Dylan Clarke. Blair Falotico is another Freshman that caught my eye. He's quick, creates shots for his teammates, and wins the 50/50 battles for the puck. Other than Adams, Kavanagh, and MacLeod...I'm kind of concerned about our Defenseman.

How about Eric Satim?! Can you say SUNYAC MVP? The dangler from Montreal, Quebec is back for his Senior go around. He was simply the best player on the ice last night.
