Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I think its more that fans are snickering, but those who saw the Oswego game saw how good Plattsburgh can be and are just as confused as we are. The only difference is, they don't care why its confusing or what's wrong....just keep losing.

I agree , I was at the Oz game and BOTH teams looked good to me, not sure whats up with Platts, it cannot be all netminding, the D has to step up and the forwards have to get there butts back.....dont watch platts games unless they play oz but is there a lack of hustle?? never an excuse for that......how did foley play lastnight?? to me Leis looked very good vs Oz.........not sure also but only 1345 at the game, is this a typical crowd??? I also imagine IF emery is holding any players out because they have no expeirience, they will be played asap, never know what/who could provide as spark

Last night's attendance was announced at 1,384. I expect it to be around 1,100 tonight. No one wants to watch a crappy team. The only reason I'm going is because I payed $120 in advance for season tickets. I might as well go see how bad Fredonia can beat the Cardinals.

I'm thinking about selling the rest of my tickets after the Primelink.

Selling your tickets eh? Not going to stick behind your team when they're in a rut? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching platty lose in conferance games. But they better shape up, I was going to root for them in the primelink, someone has to get Norwich off of their high horse. I'd prefer it be a sunyac team.

This is great. It is good to see what dedicated fans the Plattsburgh men really have.

I'm no fair-weather fan. If I can get tickets (which it sounds like that won't be a problem this year), I'll be at the primelink. I haven't been to a plattsburgh game yet because, well, education comes first, and my place of education is 150 miles away and I have no means of transportation. So I get my college hockey fill working for our ACHA team. But I'll be there next week. Look forward to catching up with my fellow Cardinal Fans, as well as any of my acquaintances from Norwich who will be making the trek. I'll also be home for the period of 12/31-1/8 in which, counting both men's an women's games with their holiday tournaments, there are 10 games at the Stafford in that 8-day time span (Card Classic (4), Panther/Card Classic (4), v. Norwich, v. Elmira). I was there in the down swing in the mid 2000's, and I'll be here now. If (heaven forbid), Plattsburgh ends the season at 2-23-0, I'll still be a Plattsburgh fan. Now, that won't happen, but I still feel that way.

By the way: I have a strong feeling that the Primelink may be a turning point in this season. If we play both games the way we did for 58 minutes against Oswego, we could go 2-0 on a tough weekend and get some momentum to start rolling through the schedule. We shall see.

I feel the same way.

I guess I wouldn't try holding my breath though

Yes, yes we are. We are just as baffled, in fact, just speechless. I think all eyes will be on Platty to see what happens next.......

Did anyone that went to the game against Buff State notice Plattsburgh slowing down in the third period at all? Shots don't tell the whole story, and it was 12-11 Plattsburgh, but generally the Cardinals skate circles around opponents like Buff State in the final period.

That late goal at the end of the 2nd look like it took everything out of the players.....

"but generally the Cardinals skate circles around opponents like Buff State in the final period."

You have to remember that these aren't the same teams every year. If I'm not mistaken Buff brought in a lot of new players, and news from Potsdam says their team is making strides under new coaches. You can't just expect wins which what I hear is what many people players included in Plattsburgh do.

Wow, things are looking up, they announced the attendence over the PA a couple times - Seventeen THOUSAND Sixteen!!!!

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

Finally...! THAT was the team I've been wanting to see all season. They managed to finally bring their game back to home ice with a great matchup against Fredonia. Hats off to both teams. I was impressed by both squads tonight; and unashamedly ecstatic that the Cardinals notched their first win of the season on home ice. Hopefully things are going to turn around for us. If we can keep this momentum and this style of play going, that would be awesome.

A quick recap of tonight's action is available at http://www.therobbrennan.com/journal/2010/11/20/plattsburgh-defeats-fredonia-4-2.html

So I guess, according to your logic, the players should expect to lose? Hopefully, what you mean is that they shouldnt look past their opponent, which I am sure they are NOT doing, if they ever did.

I don't EXPECT them to win; but I expect Plattsburgh to come out and play good defense, create Grade A chances and stay out of the box. If they lose but do these things consistently, tip your cap to the other team.
