Dear Season Ticketholder,

First of all, on behalf of the team and the college, I want to thank you for your support of our men's hockey team. Your continued encouragement is important to our team's past and future success.

As I am sure you know the 2009-2010 will be upon us very quickly. October and the start of season will be here before we know it. In April, we sent out a letter to all of our current season ticket holders giving you the opportunity to reserve your tickets for the 2009-2010 season. The majority of you took advantage of the opportunity to renew in April. A few of you asked if it would be possible to change your seats and we asked that you wait until all of the current season ticket holders were given the chance to renew their seats. We are now able to meet the requests of those of you who would like to change their seats for the 2009-2010 season.

On Friday, July 24th, between 5 - 7 pm at the Field House Ticket Office we will be glad to meet with you to have your seats changed. Feel free to call 518 (564-4140) if you have any questions. As always, we sincerely thank you for your support.

Respectfully,

Signed

Bruce Delventhal
Director of Athletics

PS
Final payment of remaining balances on 2009-10 season ticket purchases is due 8/17/09.

Basic season tickets are $110 (all seats are reserved), and include all regular season games (some of which such as the first game and Oswego) sell for a premium at the box office, additionally, season ticketholders get first chance at their seats for post season games.

$130 at Norwich, which also includes Prime Link games, so very comparable.

Next year, I suppose we will get to see if they will include the PrimeLink games, nice to see that Norwich set a precident.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey - 2009/2010

They always have been in the season ticket holders packages (when the PrimeLink was AT Norwich).

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey - 2009/2010

Plattsburgh season tickets do include the Cardinal Classic, and I believe they will include the Primelink. if they don't then I'm sure something will be done to give ticket holders first dibs at their seats.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey - 2009/2010

Congratulations to Danny Brown '79 and Dave Piromalli '89 as they become Cardinal Sports Hall of Fame 2009 inductees.

Brown captained the men's hockey team during the 1977-78 season and helped the program to two SUNYAC titles. He was named first-team All-SUNYAC in 1979 and first-team All-NYCHA in 1978 and 1979. The Cardinals finished with a record of 44-7 during the two seasons Brown skated for the squad. He still holds a place on the all-time single-season school list for goals (7th, 35), assists (T-8th, 51) and points (T-7th, 86) — completing a career year in 1978.

Piromalli captained the men's hockey team during the 1986-87 season after earning All-American Second Team honors the year before. Upon completing his career, Piromalli held the school record for goals (121), points (298), power-play goals (55), and game-winning goals (16). He was named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference First Team twice and the 1987 NCAA All-Tournament Team. In addition, Piromalli was honored with a spot on the Cardinal All-Decade Team for the years spanning 1985-94.

2009-10 Men's Hockey Ticket information is becoming available on the SUNY Plattsburgh Website.

2009-10 Men's Hockey Single-Game Tickets (Advance Sales)
The admission costs for single games are $5 regular-season reserved seat, $8 Oswego (Nov. 7) and $10 per day of Cardinal Classic (Jan. 1-2, two games on both days). These tickets are available at the Field House Box Office. Procedures about single-game sales will be announced later when details have been finalized.

2009-10 Men's Hockey Season Tickets
Season tickets for the Plattsburgh State men's hockey team's 2009-10 schedule will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Plattsburgh Field House. The cost is $110 per reserved seat. Purchasing a season ticket eliminates the hassle of standing in line waiting for tickets, both during the regular season and playoffs (season ticket holders have first priority), plus having the knowledge of securing a reserved seat for every home game during the season.

For more information, call Plattsburgh Athletics at (518) 564-3140, or email burghytickets@plattsburgh.edu

Brown went from NCAA to WHL. Thats weird

Some "weird" background on the 1980-81 "Spokane Flyers" of the WHL.

The Flyers were posthumously involved in one of the most bizarre trades in hockey history. After ceasing operations, the Flyers team bus was sold to the Victoria Cougars. The Cougars owners were not willing to pay the duties and taxes required to bring the vehicle into Canada, so on December 19, 1983, the Cougars traded the bus to the Seattle Breakers for holdout Tom Martin.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey - 2009/2010

wow only 4 returning Dmen. How many players does PBurgh roster?

Roster size changes from year to year. PSU usally carries 3 goalies, 8 D, and 16 or so forwards.

As for only 4 D returning, three graduated (Rolls, Greene, & Burke) and Ward Smith's career was cut short because of too many bops to the head. I don't think Smith was ever really the same after a cheap shot from a certain captain of a SUNYAC rival.

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey - 2009/2010

Just a few Questions about Platty.

Why are Platty season tickets so expensive? At Utica their only $40(seat reserved for season and post-season home games). What was Platty's attendence average last season? And what's the capacity of Platty's rink? Thanks!

As noted by jerrynu26, at $110 they are comparable to Norwich ($130), which also utilizes Reserved Seats. The $110 does represents a premium over taking your chances on the day of the game. Prior to going to exclusively reserved seats, you could purchase a general admission season ticket for $55 (which represented a slight savings over purchasing the tickets the day of the game - BUT - capacity was MUCH higher back then).

What was Platty's attendence average last season?

Plattsburgh's 2008-09 attendance averaged 1,672, this is in excess of 84% of capacity (Note: Attendance is based on ticket sales, and as such, all season ticket holders are assumed to be in attendance, even if, in actuality they are not).

And what's the capacity of Platty's rink?

The 1,924 in attandance for the Dec. 5, 2008 matchup with Oswego represented a Sellout.

From what I have heard it is a very somber crowd. Not enough students in attendance perhaps?
