Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

There's no possibility of parole until he's 98. What would be long enough? The man will die in prison.

People live til 98. The number needed to be an age that there could be no doubt he would did in prison. say 50-100 years.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Who the hell is going to vote to parole him at 98? We don't have Scottish law where we let criminals out because they're old and dying, last I checked.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

He's never getting out, but it should have been a bigger number, just because it should have been.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Yeah, 30 years was the minimum. Why give this monster the minimum?

Pedophiles should get life.

Can't wait for someone to step up now and defend pedophiles...

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

I think the sentence should have been bigger too.

If 10-ish kids got Sandusky 30-60, what's one kid get you? You have to drop the bomb here just to avoid setting a bad precedent for some slimeball lawyer to argue in the future.

10 yes, but without any physical evidence and only one seemingly shaky account (McQueary) from an eyewitness who was not also a victim. Clearly he did do it (and was properly found guilty), but it would have been easier for the judge to award a longer sentence if there were more evidence than "just" 10 he-said, he-said accounts.

Here's a different way to look at it- it's already been posted that the MINIMUM time before a parole board even gets to talk to the guy is 30 years, and could be as much as 60.

With 45 small sentances, it would be virtually impossible to overturn the sentance- it's so very light PER instance, that there's no way that it can realistically be challenged. So by putting the age as it does, the odds of life in prison is about as high as it gets, and the odds of turning the sentance over by being too harsh is about as low as it gets. So the odds of life in prison w/o parole is about the same as a murderer.

Going more doesn't fix much. If he were younger, I'm sure the judge would take that into account for the sentances, as well.

Edit- a "life without parole" may not be an option in Pennsylvania. which is why the judge pieced togther an easy to uphold "life" sentance.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Anyone think he's lasting more than 5 when he gets to the big house?

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Sooooo three former teachers at Shattuck-St. Mary's have allegations of sexual abuse against them now. One is dead from committing suicide when the school confronted him about it. Probably should have told the cops first, geniuses.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

There's no way he'll last 30 years in max security conditions. He'll be dead within 5-10, fate willing.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

Because people in jail will automatically kill themselves if they have a rope...
No, but it will get him to think about it... You know **** well the guards ain't exactly going to just jump up right away to get some Bubba off of you if you're Sandusky.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

The man is a nut. If you give him rope, he'll probably try to braid his hair or something.

Re: Penn State Child Abuse Scandal - Revived

If he had rope, I'd put my money on auto-erotic asphixiation. (not sure if I spelled that right)
