PC Police: A New Low

Re: PC Police: A New Low

I think all this talk these days about "racists" and "racism" is a bit over-blown; the issue really seems to be one of ethnicity, not race. For example, in my experiences through the years,

-- I really like Jamaicans a lot; by ethnic group they are tied for 2nd (with Jews) among my friendships. However, I don't like Haitians very much at all.
-- I like Cubans and most Mexicans; Puerto Ricans, not so much.
-- I like most Indians, but have not yet met a Pakistani I can like
-- I like Welsh and Scots, but English, not so much.
-- I like Dutch, but Belgians, meh
-- I like Norwegians considerably more than Swedes.
-- I like Poles, but Russians, not so much.
-- I like Hungarians, but Serbs, meh
-- I like Irish and Jews more than Italians and Greeks

and on and on and on.

If I could make an analogy from statistics, the deviation around the median for most races today is far wider than the medians are separated from each other. There is so much overlap, and such increased awareness of differentiation within each race, that "racism" itself is just too broad a term to have any useful meaning.

The important thing to remember is that we are all united in our humanity, and we are all far more alike than different. For example, in all your cases of people you like and don't like, there is one common characteristic you are ignoring.

They all don't like you.

Re: PC Police: A New Low

I have read about more than a few situations in which a 20-something woman marries and 80-something man. In every case, the 80-something man is very, very wealthy.

Sometimes, it seems like interview comments can be taken out of context, so that they take on an entirely different meaning when viewed in isolation, compared to what they meant within context.

For example, suppose you are a really wealthy man, let's say in his 60s, and you find many young women offering themselves up to you. You mention off-handedly to someone, "wow, I cannot believe it! it is so ridiculous, how all these women come up to you and offer themselves up, just because you are rich. It is amazing, you can grab them in an intimate area and they don't seem to mind at all, in fact they even give off signals that they welcome it!"

Slightly off topic...

Many years ago there were the Civil War Veterans' brides who I guessed married the old codgers for their pensions. The last Union widow died in 2003 and we're still paying a pension to a daughter of a Union soldier.

Are you really trying to excuse trump's *****-grabbing comment?

GFY and DIAF. And I don't want to hear any whining from you, seeing as you're so anti-PC and just want to hear straight talk.

Re: PC Police: A New Low

These people are having their swan song. Their grandchildren will despise them. Let them rot.

go **** yourself, ****Face

I want you to find one post where I used invective spittle laced language like BassAle did.

I will disagree with most of you. I will point out my areas of disagreement. But I will do so in a manner and language that I could show my grandkids and not be ashamed.

It is unfortunate that some of the left have a nutty when people disagree with them or take a position that is not theirs. If you want this to be an echo chamber of just the left, then by all means, keep the invective. You'll have the room to yourselves.

Re: PC Police: A New Low

Maybe not you joe, but that isn't exclusive to the left. You could have walked into any small town corner bar in Middle America within the last 8 years, and likely heard plenty of coarse language ranting directed at Obama and "l1btards".

Now, does that make it OK for us to do it here? No, but at this point Fishy and Flaggy are master baiters, and it's easy to bite.

And yet your party just elected Donald Trump to be President, probably the most vulgar person elected to that job since Andrew Jackson. And your party constantly talks about getting rid of the PC culture.

So pardon me if I don't care if I upset your gentile sensibilities seeing as you elected someone who really should cause you shame when you look at your grandchildren.

you guys elected Donald J Trump. I've put up with 8 years of being called a libt*rd (USCHO censors this I guess) and hearing people call Obama a n***er. I just don't give a **** about being civil to the deplorables anymore.

Congrats. I'm sure you'll be hurt by this (not), but you're blocked.

It's already an echo chamber. Just remember they celebrate diversity

So you're going to make things or people better by being worse. Sounds fulfilling.

My kids have a friend at school whose dad is from Indiana. Invited us to their house last year for Easter. During a political discussion (of which I sat by and watched) he openly and proudly referred to Obama has a ni**er several times over. His friends - mostly former military like him - egged him on. It was disgusting.

Should've calmly collected your kid, and walked out. I would have.

No kids of mine will have "friends" who (or whose parents) refer to any black person as a ni-. Period. That's non-negotiable.

Re: PC Police: A New Low

If my sons had been within earshot we would have left, but I haven't been back to his house since. Fortunately the son doesn't appear to have picked up on his dad's infantile demeanor, but time will tell.
