PC Hockey - Construction Continues

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

There is a lot of buzz in Pittsburgh about the reemergence of the PC program. It is nice to hear compliments rather than a steady stream of "What's wrong" questions.

Congrats to the guys on these awards.

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

In today's projo:

Providence College and coach Nate Leaman are close to agreement on a contract extension, PC athletics director Bob Driscoll said on Tuesday.

"It will give him and our program the security that we both need to have long-term success,'' said Driscoll, who declined to comment on the length or the terms of the extension.

Leaman has led his team to the Hockey East semifinals in each of his first two years with the Friars. He currently has four years remaining on the six-year deal that he signed when he came to PC from Union College in 2011.

Driscoll said he has received inquiries from other schools that were interested in talking to Leaman about their coaching jobs. He declined to name the schools.
"Nate is a highly sought-after person. We've been talking about (a contract extension) for some time, and he's committed to being here. Nate's a great coach, so it's a compliment to him that (other schools) are interested. I think he's going to be here for a long time,'' Driscoll said.

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

I heard from a very good source than he was offered the B U job before they hired David Quinn. I am glad he turned them down. Happy to have Nate committed to this program long term. Good things are headed our way in the near future.

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

People on the UMaine threads were talking about how they wanted Leaman...and given his past with the program up there I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to talk to him. I'm glad he's staying.

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

I can't believe that NONE of my fellow Friars fans have done any recon missions to Schneider to snap photos of the construction to post! I'm dying to see how the construction is coming!

13 we need you!

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

Good to see Cody Wild play at the dunk last Saturday for Scranton. He had an assist in Wednesday game. Sure would have loved to see him play for Leaman

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

First he would have had to become more of a team player and less me first

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

Good news: I graduated today!
Bad news: I didn't get arena pics. (Sorry! It rained.) however, the entire front part that used to be the lobby has been completely ripped apart and gutted, and the addition part is coming along nicely.
