PC Hockey - Construction Continues

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

Drove by campus yesterday and saw a ton of construction going on. You could see they were ripping apart the bathrooms and the entire current lobby was being demolished inside. Should be interesting to see what it will look like when finished.

Well, let's hope someone remembers to put college hockey's most affordable soda machine back when they are done.

The soda machine near the Edgewood locker room was like a buck a bottle.

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

When you win 1 game in 6 tries (!) against an opponent as UNH did against PC -- and also finish below them in the standings on top of it -- that's the kind of thing that ought to be weighted just a bit more than every other statistical ranking the computer spits out. (Of course, UNH will also sell some tickets Friday night, which is a genuine consideration in their favor...)
UNH, PC, and BU were all tied for third - the tie is only broken for the sake of seeding teams for the playoffs; akin to beating a team in a shootout in a holiday tournament - the official record is still a tie. Whatever this suggested criteria is it would have to move PC up from 22nd to jumping Wisconsin & Yale who were tied at 14th while at the same time not seeing any of the teams ranked 14-21 advance a spot. Depending on how it was done it may have even helped UNH, as remember they went 3-0-0 in the regular season against Lowell who was superior to them in the rankings. I've heard some suggest bringing back "record in last 10 games" as a consideration and I think it's a pretty fair discussion point, it definitely would have hurt UNH (3-3-4) and helped Providence (6-3-1) but I'm not sure how it would have affected the teams in the 14-21 range where Providence needed to make up room, nor do I have the time to look it up. Toward the last piece, UNH was a #2 seed and would have made it whether they were hosting in Manchester or not, 8 other teams (#3 & #4 seeds) were picked below them - the ticket sales point doesn't really carry weight here.

Happy Birthday Netman. A Capt and coke awaits you in Pittsburgh. :)

Re: PC Hockey - Construction Continues

There is a lot of buzz in Pittsburgh about the reemergence of the PC program. It is nice to hear compliments rather than a steady stream of "What's wrong" questions.

Congrats to the guys on these awards.

Fun reading the Maine quotes looking for a coach like Nate to replace Tim
