I'm not going to judge; we have to listen to Terhar and Greenlay :(

They at least know how to pronounce some of the names right...I dont care how thick your accent is seriously it isnt hard

Plus Gorg > both these guys :p ;)

Primetime in Europe I guess, don't know if that factored in though.

I would think primetime in the market you're in would be more important, but whatever. I'll have to watch online at work.

Primetime for Eastern Canada/US is the only thing that is important. Ever.

That is where the most TVs are, so that is where the primetime programming must be. It sucks for the rest of us, but I can't fault their logic. Money, money, money, money... MONEY! :p :D ;)

well, a sweden win would give us the last four gold medalist competitors.

Heck of a game by Kipper.

Re: Part IV of the XXIst Winter Olympiad Or All Your Hockey Are Belong to US

I don't like that Kiprusoff got a shutout there, but the US will just have to bring their 'A' game.

how does 3 EST make sense then? wouldn't 5 be a better starting time for the first semifinal?

I was pumped that we got by Hiller again today. Then I finally realized we had to face either Vokoun or Kipper. I promptly thought "Oh, balls." But, that's the medal round. Absolutely no way to avoid running into a hot goaltender, usually.

Yeah, I understand this argument. I tried to think about it; the only conclustion I can come up with is they really, really want to get Canada in the 8 PM ET time slot. Which puts the US game at Midnight ET. **** off the home nation or **** off NYC? It is a good question; I suppose this is the compromise?

EDIT: This probably wouldn't be an issue if the semi's were ticketed as a single event, but they have to clear the arena between the games (there is that money thing, again). Thus, the long lag between games

Yeah, I'm not sure when the time slots were decided. If it was 6 months ago, maybe they were expecting an all European semi in the afternoon and a North American one at night.

Canada's game is at 9:30. But, that is the primary driving force for the decision.

Prime-time in Canada > Prime-time in US

I am not as worried about Kipper as some of you are...he is very good but he isnt exactly Dryden :p

If their semifinal is 9:30, why the **** is the other semifinal so ****ing early? Could easily have the first semifinal at 6.

A statement was released by US Hockey today:

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Dammit.

Well, 7 scoreless periods for the King before he got beat. Swedes need to get something going on offense.
