While I'm laying truth on you, here's a question: Why are we listening to Mike Emrick and Eddie Olczyk when Kenny Albert and Joe Micheletti are a better pairing?

They lost the coin toss for calling the USA - Canada game?

What are the thoughts on the Lago situation? Is using your olympic medal to get laid against the rules??

All is fair in love and war. Even if there is no love involved.

OK, this just got more interesting.

Totally within the rules. Probably even encouraged by the rules.

I thought it was the whole point.

Also, don't we usually get a "This Weeks Sign the Apocalypse is Upon Us" about the number of condoms used in the Olympic village? I no longer get SI now that it is 18 pages long.

Rules? In a knife fight? No rules!

Debbie McCormick steps down as 4th thrower for the US women, Joranstaad to throw 4th.

Well, that does it.
Good news: US is still +4 ahead of the Czechs in the tiebreaker.
Bad news: Only way to pass Russia is with a win. Even an overtime loss gives them the tiebreaker in goal differential.

Basically, to get a bye, we need to either 1) beat the Canadians or 2) have the Finns beat the Swedes in regulation, or 3) have the Swedes beat the Finns by at least three, plus whatever we lose by, or 4) get a point against Canada and hope the Finns or Swedes win in regulation.
Slide rulers sold separately.

What a great day for hockey!

Win the game, get the bye.

That's all the team should know or care about.

Baker scored a pretty big last minute goal during that olympics, too...somehow, he found the time to get an actual career after the games! (He's also managed to not get fat)

3 and 4 get blanked, GB takes two in the fifth when Smith is a little thin on a low-percentage double takeout attempt (in his defense, the alternative was to hit and stick and gamble on Murdoch failing to do the same).

Anyone getting a bit irritated with the holier than thou commentator on curling? He picks one thing to go on about and just keeps at it.

NBC isn't, MSNBC is though. And www.nbcolympics.com should also work.
