Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

I agree with Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk. He's now only 90% convinced that Favre will return. I'm just glad he isn't in Green Bay any longer. This makes it like, what, eight years in a row?

By my recollection, it started in the 2004 offseason*. So that'd be... seven offseasons in a row.

* Also a little bit of uncertainty surrounded his huge contract extension that he got a few years before that.

Oh I'm thrilled he isn't a packer anymore because of this crap but who knows, he could finally be done. He could also just be living it up again but who knows.

Although I still remain sick of the story no matter where he is, I'm just so happy it's not our problem anymore.

From Jim Souhan -
"If we dare take him seriously amid his latest threats of retirement -- and history tells us we should not -- he will have devastated a franchise that treated him with deference and reverence and betrayed the trust of his teammates and coaches.

He will have done so in just the manner Packers fans predicted, by throwing an inexplicable, championship-losing interception on his final play in purple, then turning his decision on retirement into a sad serial of self-indulgence."

Yes Jim, we did predict it. Thanks for acknowledging.

Isn't in the NFL's best interest to keep seating capacity lower to keep people at home watching it on TV? Is a viewership stat worth more than a seat at the game?

There's also the latest Donald Driver signing. He signed an additional 3 years and wants to retire a Packer. He's the classiest dude of the them.

-----

The Packers are going to score 40 points/game....they just have to make sure they don't give up 41.

Family Night at the stadium tonight. Avoid.

Overall the 1st preseason game was nothing to fret over, but I did notice Raji getting blown out numerous times. He's not nearly as stout as Picket was last year in the middle, at least from what this game showed. Watch for this the next game.
