Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

If you're a professional athlete, one think your team would hold classes in how not to be suckered into stuff like this.

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

:D What does Aaron Rodgers think about Tony Kornheiser?

"You know who was better than Tony Kornheiser, though? Dennis Miller was 10 times better. And I thought Dennis, a great comedian, was one of the worst 'Monday Night Football' guys ever. But he was 10 times better than Tony Kornheiser.

"His stuff was actually funny," Rodgers said. "Tony was not funny at all. He would do absolutely no research. We would sit in those production meetings and he would have absolutely nothing to offer the conversation. Like, what are we doing here? This is stupid."

Rodgers wasn't done with Kornheiser, saying that he is "terrible" on his ESPN show "PTI."

"He's bad," Rodgers said. "He's really bad. I don't think he is funny. I don't think he is insightful. I don't think he really knows anything about sports."

Dear Aaron Rodgers,

You're ****ing awesome

Signed,

Everyone

P.S. Kornheiser's response. Methinks he won't be arguing too hard against Rodgers here.
I don't blame Rodgers for spouting off here. I thought TK was terrible on MNF too. But I also think MNF is terrible in general since ESPN took over and SNF is now what MNF used to be. I do watch PTI everyday but not much ESPN otherwise anymore. For me, TK + DL > MW + DL > TK + MW.

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

Good for Aaron. I like TK, I listen to his radio show everyday, but he was horrendous on MNF.

Not sure how fans will feel about him liking Aikman though.
Whenever I come home and watch football with my dad, he always complains about Aikman, and how Aikman hates the Packers.

Anyone else feel like the thread title is a little ironic...?

Also, Aaron Rodgers ripping Tony FTW :D

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

Some NFL players would be successful at other things in life if they weren't really good at football. Johnny Jolly is not one of those guys. The only reason it took him this long to get in trouble is because football got in the way of doing this sort of thing full time. It's funny, but the door could actually open up for Justin Harrell if he doesn't herniate a disk reaching for the knob.

Update on the shareholders meeting, courtesy of JSOnline.

Amongst the other things that stand out:

Among the development ideas would be t enclose Lambeau Field by building suites or a restaurant on the south end, possibly raising attendance just under 80,000.

From a money perspective, those are probably the two best ideas for what to do on the south end. From a fan perspective, those are easily the two worst ideas for what to do in the south end.

But, they're also going to start having portable TVs available so people can go to Lambeau and watch other games in the stadium... so that's probably the kind of direction they're looking to go.

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

If they want to make more money, why not expand the stadium to 100,000? Still a guaranteed sellout every Sunday.

Because you would sell additional regular seats for around $700 for the season and give 40% of it to the visiting teams. Any club style premium seats can go for 3 or 4 times that and they can keep 100% of it or they can lease a box for $50,000 per season and also keep all of it.

Re: Packers Offseason - Drama-free for the second straight year!

Comments on the team as they begin practicing.

*I was at the stadium today for a kids event and movie night/fireworks. I'm there plenty but it never gets old.

*Great to see every single person associated with the team signed and in camp on time.

*Atari Bigby is an idiot. He thought missing all team activities and then showing up with a bum ankle the team probably could have helped him rehab would get him a long-term deal. His only shot at a long term deal was to earn one this season. Instead he lets a rookie get a jump on him and now he comes in well under 100%. His chance of not even being on the roster on week 1 is infinitely higher than them even discussing the possibility of a long-term deal.

*Cullen Jenkins may end up being the key to this entire season. He's the one guy on the line staying put and they really need him to come up big. Raji is a first time starter and Pickett slid outside. I'm very concerned they are going to miss Jolly. When I hear people talk about their optimistic predictions I think his loss is breezed over a little too quickly. If Justin Harrell stuns the heck out of us all it may be no big deal, but I have yet to talk to anyone who is remotely counting on that.

Well, sure. I know they can make more money that way. I'm just saying, if they really are intent on expanding the stadium, they could do it in a way that still brings in extra money (albeit not as much), yet didn't alienate any fans.
