Oswego State Lakers 2025-26...Let's Take it up a notch.....

A side note , last night our goal net judges were informed that they would not be needed anymore. One has been in that cage for almost four decades. They were given a email to tell them this. It would have been better if they had been informed earlier, or perhaps told they would be done at the end of this season. Apparently this was an NCAA decision. We are aware that this will be the norm in most conferences. What I have a problem with is how will a ref be able to keep his eye on the clock and the net?

They took scott anyway im so mad. We loved him in the student section it was always fun to watch him try and hold it together and not laugh or smile after someone said something funny or outrageous. Those earplugs didn't do jack squat. I hope goal judges can come back for the postseason. Sounds like we need to take advantage of the new video replay rule and install some more cameras to help the refs out.
 
Not a bad showing last night at The U,but wow was my stream of the game bad,horrible and what happened to Ray Biggs??? I would say that we got out skated and out sized in many of the battles,both teams this weekend seemed to push us around and their forwards drove the net and we did not respond to that,i.e the wraparound goal, that guy have been on his ass....I guess we now know whats at the top and as stated Bart is a few notches up thats for sure,I guess its payback from when I played and we would crush them on a regular basis....As for the reffing*&^$%&&%$##%^^............Breaktime for the boys then back to work, we will have to work hard the rest of the way...Let's Go Lakers!!!!hey lakeont55 did you make it to the game last night???
 
We were disappointed with the game in Utica last night. We had opportunities but unfortunately we had a sloppy third period. That cost us.
On another subject, I thought hard coming on here to post this because someone will suggest I’m a poor loser. During the game last night we were sent texts and actual calls from Laker fans both in Canada and here. During the Teddy Bear Toss last night apparently Coach Gary Heenan stated during a live broadcast that Oswego’s teddy bear toss was a clown show compared to theirs. Why would a head coach state something so ignorant . He is a Coach at a major University, we have great coaches that are well respected in our conference and they would never make such a thought less statement. The people who bust their ass every year at our school and community to put on this wonderful event work as volunteers and never ask for anything for themselves. It is an insult to all of them.

Was he wrong? Oswego had the #1 team in the country at their own rink for the teddy bear toss and the place was half empty. Sure the statement could be construed as unnecessary or ignorant but he wasn’t wrong.

We are not talking about the hockey game, we are talking about an ignorant statement from a Head Coach. Yes our barn was not sold out, the students left campus early. Though that was unfortunate for our volunteers who work all year to administer this great program it has nothing to do with an ignorant statement on a live broadcast which was being streamed live all over the country.

Wrong isn't just a matter of facts. If he denigrated Oswego's teddy bear toss, and by association those who participated and the volunteers who put it together, that's wrong in my book.

I cannot believe Coach Shultz or Coach Taylor or Joe at Cortland or Paul Rodriguez at Skidmore or any of our other coaches would waste their time with making a statement like that. We just cannot understand what benefit this could be to anyone.

Yeah, he was wrong to state it the way he did. Not just wrong, but pretty classless as well.

Defending his classless statement says more about you and your values than any material Oswego fans can get worked up about. He should apologize, or get a clue, but I won’t hold my breath for either.

It has to do with having very little class, and I guess that was shown with the comment, nothing to do with who's teddy is better,whos rink was full etc etc
, please.....
