You guys definitely will know more about your team after December 9th.

I think Utica will though too after they play Oswego at the Campus Centre the 7th.

I hope you guys are ready though next Friday when Utica comes to town ...We have a 55 seater coach bus coming full of Utica fans, just to make the game a bit more interesting (And I'm doubting they'll be completely sober)

Oswego will have a 1,000 students there and I'm guessing the percentage of them being sober is on par or greater than the Utica bus.

And if they have the opportunity to sand and cheer, they may hear the "Ugly Parents" chant from the student section. You can faintly hear it being added to the students repertoire the last couple games

Oh quite a few of us (including myself) came last year when our boys played up there. Unfortunately for your team, I believe Oswego was still on Christmas break & therefore the entire student section or so it seemed was non-existent. This year will be more exciting however because your student section will actually be there. We intend to make our presence known, one way or another.

It's funny you mention the parents section though. Last year when Oswego scored, me the other Utica fans sitting behind the visiting teams' bench were constantly being flipped off by men and women older than my grandparents. I gave them the respect of looking away and not returning the same or similar gestures. This year however, I may not choose to be so kind.

Your parents section and student section can chant back all they want, we encourage it. Just know, we will be making our presence known when Utica scores and such.

Birdwatcher, Utica is roughly 100 miles from Oswego... we bring what we can. Your Campus Centre stupid rules prevent us from bringing our flag we wave over our teams bench every time they score and don't even let us bring in noise makers or **** cowbells... We're Utica fans.. we have to find a way to enjoy the game somehow

A. Actually its only about 80 miles or so, but close
B. "Your" ...Birdwatcher is far from an Oswego fan
C. If and when Utica actually makes the NCAA's, you will find out that you can not have them anyways as per the NCAA rules.

First off, Birdwatcher is a Cardinals fan hence his forum name.

Secondly, I hope you are joking/being sarcastic about the inability to bring in a flag and noisemakers. You should be able to enjoy the game without that stuff. I know it adds flavor but some people take the things too far and it gets very annoying and actually has a negative impact on the viewing of the game to the people around you when some goof is blowing on his vuvuzela constantly. You should be able to be loud and proud for your team without cowbells, whistles, air horns and whatever else you could think of bringing in.

Sorry, not an Oswego fan! I just know what is like there. Its kind of like putting fifty-five gallons of hot water in a 24 foot swimming pool. You won't see any change in temperature.

Should of clarified, from where I AM driving from it is 99.6 miles, but whose counting.

I don't stay up to date on whose a fan of who, so my apologies there. I'm still confused how some people on here are Elmira AND Oswego fans, but hey it's a free country.

Contrary to the popular belief, not all of us are drunks or drink at the Utica home games, so that would not be a problem if the hockey gods allowed us to enter the NCAA tourny.

Bakdraft I do remember the Lakers playing Hobart and the snow fell into the rink. As for being colder than Romney I can remembering standing in Romney many nights wishing that they would open the doors to let the heat in and the humidy out. And the little bottle of warmth didn't do any good either.
Will you be there this weekend? If so I will see you for the Platty game.

There are lots of new followers in the Utica thread, like the new Adrian fans were a few years ago. That is odd considering that Utica started before Adrian, too

they seem to be a informed bunch and really support there team, i think they will have a good yr this yr..

I want to also go off your comment of older Oswego fans flipping you off at the game last year. If it truly did happen I'm sure it was a 2-3 people max and not a whole section. There are a handful of fans who go too far that follow every team. But, I must say even at the fear of starting something the Pioneers fans are not very warm to opposing fans as a whole. A lot of the 'Wego fans have fun with ribbing opposing fans but the folks I encountered threw some unpleasantries at me in a very mean tone. I guess one reason for other venues to not serve alcohol at games.

as for me I played for both teams..as for the others hey the more the merrier....Bottom line, fun to watch good college hockey s0 why not follow as few teams if you can.

Again I supplied him with the pictures but do to real life and a technical problem on my end things got put into place late. Nope, I was being as serious as a heart attack. Sure, fans go too far at their teams home games and away games, but c'mon, we can't bring our **** flag in? You've got to be kiddin' me, where is the harm? There is none. As for cowbells, alright they can be left at the door although I still don't see the harm in them, it's a **** bell.

It just seems you guys are trying to be so politically correct for lack of a better term with your home games and it's just my opinion when I say this, but you guys have to enjoy the game and loosen up a bit.

Yeah, it was around 10 old people or so give or take that gave us the finger, but whatever.

We got some nasty looks, chants and gestures thrown at us last year walking in with all our Utica gear on. But it's what makes the game that much more interesting, so I don't mind.

Sounds like a great time, I would love to actually. It has be more electrifying than a New Jersey Devil/New York Ranger game in that building I bet. I guess just coming from a building where the rules are more lenient than others such as the Campus Centre, it's hard to adjust, even for one game.
