As for the trip up north, who's in the goal vs Potsdam and then Platty?? Continued rotation?? I always thought this to be a very hard choice for a coaching staff.

No reason to stop the Rotation. If anything Hanson may have a slight edge in my mind. Hanson got Hobart, Richer got Genny, pretty even there as well.

6-1-1 great start but we still have our trip up north and to Buffalo so we have a lot of Sunyac work to do yet. I don't understand the "#1" line, (Emmersson, Herlihey, Gillisepie) clearly Zizek and Berry are our top 2 centers, they are the engines driving the offense, load those 2 centers with your top wingers, whoever you think they are (Huffnagle, Herlihey, Molinario, Spink, Gillispie?) and see if we get a few more goals. Emmerson and Durocher have been solid 3rd and fourth line centers.

Brockport- I was disappointed with Brockport, I thought they would be better. They had no business being only down 1 early in the third, we had dominated them. Thank god we got the second goal. We couldn't score, can't really criticize players for not scoring on their chances, we know they want to score just as much as we want them to. I would like to see the puck down low on the PP more often, (especially on 5on3)even take it behind the net once and while. Force the goalie deep in his net, force the defense to move and choose, that's how Hobart got there PP goal on us. Nice game by Hufnagle, Berry again, pretty well everyone. Hanson was perfect. Gillispie thought the forward had snowed our goalie, smarter ways to get back at the player then take an obvious penalty. But it does remind me of a theory I heard, if you are so mad at a guy you are going to spear him, cross check or hit him from behind and take a penalty, then make sure he feels some pain. Gillispie was all in on that one.

Geneseo- Much better game, huge momentum swings, Genny all over us then we would be all over them. Richer Very good, but he should have stopped that first one. Huffnagle takes the hit to make the play, that's how Zizek ends up wide open. Hufnagle deserves to be in the top 6 forwards and the PP. Pelnik took a step backwards in this game. I expected we would see Genny's best after coming off a loss and at home so I'm pretty happy with the tie.

Overall- 3 points is very good. Offense is doing everything but scoring. Defense only gave up 2 goals, 1 even strength I believe. Goaltending pretty solid effort from both goalies.

Target firmly placed on The Lakers back today, #4 in both polls...The players have worked hard to earn this,they will have to work even harder to keep it or move up..I am not sure what the coaches are feeding these guys but they have done a nice job so far...Keep it up.

Agreed, all these guys show is grit and hustle. Nothing flashy but all the meat and potatoes you can handle.

Mine too. I get nervous with Richer in net. I'm sure the coaches know what they're doing- they see everyone day after day. But from just watching the games, I like Hanson. It's been a while since I've seen Oswego block as many shots as they did in Geneseo- everyone felt the need to help out.

Talk about a hot bed of Div III hockey- five of the top 15 teams located in Central(ish) NY!

Berry caught my eye last year and he's REALLY catching my eye this year. Hockey smarts. And when they do the Cameron Berry movie, Pete Davidson from SNL is going to get the lead role. :D

Was at a work Christmas function so o didn't get to watch the game, was shocked by the score when I peeked at the score midway, anyone there? Potsdam was expected to be a tough matchup.

Looks like Hansen in jet tonight with Richer playing last night.

Oswego started fast and Richer made some nice saves early to keep Da bears off the board,after that we had a few nice tick tack toe plays,something we have not seen much of this year,to put da bears on their heals,after that good night nurse..Huffnagle with 4 helpers,Zizek the new "Zman" had 2 goals,also Herlihy with 2 goals,and we out hustled and just about out everythinged them...Richer played well again made many nice saves,we just overpowered them..

Tonight could be the ultimate confidence builder - a great rivalry with a rowdy home crowd - the "Lil Lakers" will find out what games like this are all about.....praying for a good stream #GoLakers

Talk about a pretty dominate performance, good to see the offense continue showing precision tic tac toe goals plus the nitty gritty variety. Wow is all I can say if you'd told me we would have 1 loss at this point when the year started.

It has been fun watching these young guys evolve. They are still improving every game. They have had a slow offensive early season, but this weekend 12 goals not bad. What is really impressive to us is their discipline for a young team. Hats off to the coaches, certainly this is helping with the tough personal loss for Ed Gosek.
In as much as we are always going after each other, Cardinal and Laker fans, I want to mention that Coach Embry found Mary Gosek's sisters after the game and took a picture with them. It was a great jesture from Coach Embry after a tough loss. For the record Coach Gosek lost his wife earlier this year to ovarian cancer and Coach Embry has been very supportive to the Gosek family.

Which team does he Embry coach? Or is that the founder of the
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University*? In all seriousness, I know it hit coach Emery hard. While the teams may be rivals on the ice, both coaches are exactly what the world needs today...Oh and they coach hockey...Coach Emery also went put of his way IN Oswego a couple games back to find Mary herself and gesture as he went off the ice. Having been around Coach Gosek a few times (hockey camps, coaching clinics) I have the up most respect for the man. We can just b**ls all day long between the 60 minutes, but the man is just great for the sport and in life for his players and those he affects on and off the ice.

Another win in Plattsburgh, if we can just find a way to win at home or a playoff game, that would be nice. Unfortunately I suspect Plattsburgh will turn things around, again and be a tough out in Feb./March. I was thinking a 6-3-1 start would be good for a team that had so many questions and holes to fill. 8-1-1, our only loss was in OT Hobart,18 hours after the emotional Teal Gate win, did not see that coming. Congratulations to the coach and players.
I liked the line combinations this weekend, Captain obvious.
After I predicted our strength on defense, then goaltending and our forwards last. I don't see that way anymore. I really like our forward group. The wingers aren't as strong as Neil, Hulsof and Galatti but down the middle Zizek, Barry and Emmerson are just as good or maybe better then Botten & Barton. I don't think we are giving up that much on our forwards from last year, just a little from the wingers. Johnson on defense, with his all American year last year is almost impossible to replace, and his production is probably what we are missing the most.
The Goaltending has been good, as I thought/hoped it would be. The defense however has gone from our strength to hanging on by a thin thread. Rutowski left the team and Brun just hasn't shown up. I don't know if it is the injury or something else but Brun has been a shadow of himself. Don't get me wrong, the defense has been good but we have had to rely on Pelnik and the new guys a lot more then I expected and with only 7 D on the team, let's keep our fingers crossed we don't lose anyone.

Great weekend,I'll ditto a few things,some nice "skill" goals this weekend and the hustle goals were still there,with a relentless forecheck and next to no oddman rushes they are playing as a team.Pk is aggressive nice and the PP passes well and is starting to finish.Netminding has been good, but not overly tested,Richer looked good this weekend. Currie gets better with every game and Herlihy and Gillespie are starting to score.Great first 10 games,but its how we finish the last games is what counts,I hope we have the stamina,and happy we have experienced coaches who have been there many times before.

Sorry about spelling Coach Emery's name wrong. Point was that we can and do learn from these coaches ourselves.

Just realized I didnt pick-up Whiteout weekend tickets for the Platty game,anybody with 2 or 3 let me know,there are only SRO seats, but would like to have 2 for the wife and 10y.o to sit,I can stand...also sec 53 with the Platty fans is OK with me,thats is where I usually sit anyway,until the state troopers visit me:eek::D..

I was just busting b**ls, totally agree. I have taken a page or two from both in my coaching style...some good some bad lol
