Oswego pretty much dominated again today with the exception of the second period where they were a little off, as they were Frida. Gibbar played wll in net as he moves post to post very well but he had a tough time when they just came in and shot it at him. It would have been nice to see Jones get the shutout but a bad penalty by Anderson negated that. Titanic, Brown and Carr looked good again. If Leimbrock can start getting his acto together and put some of the great passes Boots puts out there in the net the Lakers will have three very dangerous lines.

I'm a little curious as to why I did not see Mather at the Cortland or the Hamilton games. I know I could have easily lost him in the crowd at the CC, but he would be easy to pick out of the tiny crowd at Sage and I was down by the locker room and near the rest of the scratches. Hopefully everything is alright with him and I know he did have a hand injury after the Utica game. That pass from the Brothers Carr to Titanic was a thing of beauty and is funny that I can pick myself out on all of the third period goals over their in the corner:D I think the offense is starting to figure things out as well. I have said before to others in the crowd at the CC with this D if the Lakers can run like a fine oiled machine on offense look out to everyone else in the world of D-3 hockey. That 3rd period was the best they have played this year.

Boots has 1 goal in his last 10 games, discuss amungst yourselfs......I think he will break out very soon, as well as that line of boots,leimmy,and whoever....

Yeah, I'm a little surprised by Boots this year, I thought his line would be rocking...

But I gotta say the Whitelaw-Moodie-Rodrigues line is killer, easily one of the best lines in D3. they have great chemistry.

We've got good depth this year with 10 guys over 10 points so far this year and 3 over 20

Boots needs to start finding the net on some of his open chances, like the one in the second against Hamilton and the breakaway he had a couple of games ago. He also needs to find a guy that can handle some of the excellent passes he is making and put them in the net. I think if Leimbrock and whomever else he is with would start scoring it will help Ian shed a little of the mounting frustration he is experiencing and in turn we might see him start burying the puck a little more.

I think he will break out soon, and hey we are doing very well without him putting up BIG #'s, dont get me wrong he has nice #s, but not like last yr,also a lot of teams are looking for him as well... I would love to see Berra with him and Leimmbrock..Yes I also like the depth we have,scoring from all over the place...

If the boots line could put up numbers like the whitelaw line we'd be blowing teams out like we did back in 09-10

Berra has played with Leimbrock and Boots a few times and while he gets into the right areas he just doesn't seem quite ready for this level just yet. He is always lagging behind those guys on the rush and has a hard time catching up to the puck when they put the pass out in front for him to skate onto. I don't see any real good alternatives to Muise or Berra though so one of them will have to step up their game if that line is going to take some of the pressure off the top line. Right now Titanic, Carr and Brown are clicking and the top line is always dangerous, so it will start opening things up for the other two lines and if they start burying their chances this team will be very tough to beat.

I would think Berra needs more game time, it is not the same as practice,the intensity is higher and the game moves fasssster...well see who lands the final spot on that line?? I also think we will see a few more line juggles b4 the end of the season..

For the 2 games that I have seen Berra play in I thought he played as well or if not better that Mather. BakDraft is correct that he needs somemore game time to get adjusted to he linemates.
One plus for Berra is that he isn't taking stupid penalties like Mather does. Still haven't heard anything of the absence of Mather. In the Curry game I think Mather came off holding his hand as it was injured and he hasn't played since.

Mather has taken a ton of backwards steps with his game this year. He was playing so well down the stretch last year including his 3 point performance in Minneapolis but this year he has been a bust.

I get what you are saying about Berra but either he or Muise really need to step it up now if you want to get maximum benefit of having Boots in the lineup. He is a play maker and right now he really has no one to make a play to. Berra will be one of the teams best players in the future but if they plan on winning the SUNYAC's and/or a National Title they need him to be more effective now. I don't feel he came in prepared physically for this level like some of the current juniors did a few years ago so the transition has been tougher on him. Chris Carr had a breakout type weekend this past weekend and I hope to see one from Berra soon.

The Geneseo game should be pretty good this weekend, a really great test of how we're built and if we've truly rebounded from that awful shutout at the hands of Neumann. Though Geneseo has been plagued with injuries all year, I hope they bring their A game.

I think we rebouned pretty well,last weekend, not the toughest teams, but they played some good fast hard hockey,with not to many penalties I might add:eek:,yes Genny will be more of a test as they always get up for Oz as just about every other team...yes Mather has been a disappointment so far,but we still have 7 games and 2 sets of playoffs in our future hopefully, Berra and Muise have played well so we will see what happens when mather comes back from whatever it is?? ps was impressed with Jones again, he looks very confident in the net, and smooth as well........

Jones is a battler that's for sure and the team is gaining more confidence in him each time he plays. His rebound control still needs work but as long as the team is ready to tie people up in front of the net it won't be much of an issue going forward. Hopefully if he gets the start against Brockport the team can help him get the shutout as he had one stolen from him in the first meeting and against Hamilton last week.

Yes he has done well in net for sure, NOT SURE if he will play vs B'port, as they have beaten Genny,Elmira,Buff St, and played neumann close 2x and hobart close as well, they have 2 TOP scorers in Cody and Finnerty, who can change a game fast..should be a interesting weekend.......

I'm still not sold on Jones, I've seen him play and he's just not that great, I have yet to see him make any amazing plays.

In my opinion Jones kept them in the game against Curry with a couple of real big saves in the first two periods. He had some pretty solid saves against Brockport earlier in the year. That said I don't really think he has what it takes to start night in and night out. If nothing else he has become a pretty decent backup to give Hare a rest when it is needed.
