Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

Yeah, our main goal is to win the pool A, which is why we want our better goalie in conference games. Non-conference can sometimes be tougher, but are a non-factor in pool A, so its good to get your backup some playing time cause you may need him when it really counts.

WOW, Do you really think that is the way? It almost sounds like if your not the SUNAC tourney winner, you don't care if you make the NCAA! It seems like the Oz fans enjoyed the pool C last year!

Flawed logic. Every game is important.

Totally agree with you. With there being only a few Pool C bids, you can't take any game lightly. Also, I think Oz has a chip on their shoulder after losing to a team they shouldn't have lost to last year in Hamilton.

A nice game for the Lakers but give Cortland thier due tonight. Their goalie made some great saves. 2 stick in mind where he stoned Boots and Brown. He really kept them in the game until the 3rd. 2 big points of intress. The Freshmen duo of Gertsakis and Rivait on D really stood out. BakDraft; you would enjoy watching these guys. They played like seasoned players. They had 1 hiccupt which cost them a goal, but they played in all facets of the game. They could be the back bone of the D corps for several years to come. They complimented each others play, passed very well, worked well as a team, just very enjoyable to watch. Gertsakis jsut might be the point man they are looking for on the PP. The Titanic line played very well tonight also. If that line can keep it up that will give the Lakers 3 very solid lines. A team is tough to beat like that. Interesting note for the second game Berra starts and not Mather, and no Mather tonight.
I thought Jones should have started to give him some PT which might be needed down the stretch.
Hopefully Tomorrows game will not be a let down. If the Freshmen play tomorrow, which I hope they do that will give the Lakers lots of options for Coach come post season.
Oswego '89
I have watched Gertsakis play and he has game for sure, have yet to much of Rivait...Berra got his first pt I believe which is a good start...CONGRATS to Carr who got his 1st college goal, I'm still waiting for mine:eek:

I'm not saying every game isn't important, I'm saying that conference games are more important than non-conference and if he wants to give the worst of the 2 goalies playing time he's better off putting him in a NC game. If hare were to get hurt in the playoffs you want your backup to have a few games under his belt and not go in cold and lose the game for us, he needs more experience.

True, but with our history in the SUNYACs over the last few years, I don't want to leave things to chance. Jones does need some work, but I don't want this game biting us in the butt.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

It will be interesting to see what Eddie does with Mather and Anderson today. Did they not dress last night just so they could be fresh today? That's 3 straight games Mather hasn't started (2 of them he didn't dress) and Anderson sat after getting that game misconduct last week. Was a little strange to see 2 of the captains not dressing last night.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

Is there something going on with him? Is he in trouble with Eddie?

I wouldn't be surprised if he's still in the dog house for those 2 consecutive game misconducts. Bad calls by the refs or not, you can't do that when you wear the 'C' on your sweater.

I remember he was shaken up at the end of the Utica game... no idea if he's hurt though

Injury would make sense. I could see Eddie being upset about the GM for a few games, but who knows. Maybe he's playing it safe, let him rest up for the rest of SUNYAC play.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

Was checking on the ticket situation for Plattsburgh. Looks like there are only standing room only left and the ones I saw were in the corner by WTOP's setup.

Also, when did ticket prices go up to $8? They were only $6 while I was there and I thought even for the 2009-2010 season that was the case too.

Pretty sure the 2009-10 season was $8.

I remember going to the Adrian/Oswego game and asking it there was an alumni discount. It was $8 though pretty sure. I remember having to save some money for the post-game trip to Greene's :)

Thanks to WTOP people I didn't have to pay to get in ;). I still have my student ID too - maybe that'll get me in for free.

The game I went to WTOP wasn't there and the two bozos I was with didn't have their student IDs still so I felt bad trying to use mine.
