Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Part II: Hockey Never Sleeps

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Part II: Hockey Never Sleeps

So does this mean that all the Canadian players that were on Oswego's team last year, are no longer going to be on the team for this season? I'm so confused.

All it guarantees, is that ALL intercollegiate athletes who were receiving the International Student Undergraduate Scholarship (including Canadian players) no longer will be receiving the scholarship - what they choose (or can afford) to do, is still TBA.

Did something solid come down?? or did I miss something??? or are we still at the rumor stage????

$48,000 International Student Undergraduate Scholarship; International Students only ($12,000 annually for up to four years)
Requires Full-Time Status and On-Campus Housing, intercollegiate athletes excluded.

The language is confusing to to me. The part about intercollegiate athletes excluded could mean either of two things.

1. Intercollegiate athletes are excluded for receiving the scholarship
or
2. Intercollegiate athlètes are excluded from the requirement of having to live On-Campus to receive the scholarship.

Since lots of schools seem to have unofficial off-campus hockey houses, I wouldn't bet against the second interpretation.

And since it is on the same line as "Requires Full-Time Status", I would put my money on option 1.

No...it means if they were receiving the aid package last year they will not receive it this year...

Or simply excluded from being Full-Time AND living On-Campus, and still can get the scholarship. It would be like having part time semi-pros who would barely crack a book ;).

I agree with you sir - the wording is wordy. Some sort of specific release or report to clarify on the situation would bring a marvelous end to the speculation (here's to waiting for a while).

All I can report, is that I had book marked the page, and reported the change ("intercollegiate athletes excluded") once I noticed it - I did NOT check it everyday, so it likely occurred before I noted it.

It's crystal clear - don't over think it - there won't be a release any time soon...

*harrumph* far too much time yet ahead before one can stop regaling on past seasons and start watching history-in-the-making again:(.

Anyone else curious as to how the Alabama Sequoia would be utilized this season? 6' 6" and parked by the net sounds like a fine opportunity for a line that's good at grinding it out.
