Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Re: Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Excellent job as always sir. I got goose bumps watching that video. Just curious...what program do you use to make these?

I use Windows Movie Maker for most of it, Prez - I'll bet its awfully weak, in the face of what video programs are available on the market today, but thats the stuff. Just a lot of tinkering involved.

Glad you liked it sir (and bakdraft)! Many thanks.

Anyone know when "Official" practices start for DI and DIII? I looked on the NCAA website but can't seem to navigate through it.

Our beloved Selleck scores the game winner in the Red/Blue Scrimmage at Rochester.
Granted, its the preseason in-team game, but netting the winner as time winds down can only bode well for his chances to skate for the Amerks, in my mind's eye.

If Selleck doesn't make the Amerks right way he'll go to the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones. The Cyclones open their season at Elmira on Oct. 15th. If Levy does well with the Crunch he may be playing for Elmira, wouldn't that be an interesting game. :D

D-III official practices can start Oct. 15th.

Not sure about D-I.

..and Oswego has an exhibition game on Oct. 16th? Looks like there's going to be a lot of practicing on the 15th and the morning of the 16th. I guess there will be different line personnel each shift during that game.

I'm pretty sure Gosek has his lines pretty much decided for that exhibition. Going off from last year and what he's seen with recruiting the new comers, forming combinations won't be tough.

On another note, is Anderson back this year?

...Aaaand happy Red October to you all - is it that we really don't have many corespondents that are Lakers students or in the OSU area for new and interesting tidbits anymore? If I were still there, I'd gladly drop something knowledgeable, but I did the smart, yet stupid, task of graduating on time.

10 Days to Rattlers now, and hopefully a lot more chatter (on a season thread).

I was told that the new WNYO sports director (Scott Glickman) outlawed his sportscasters from posting on USCHO.

Keeley, Crast, Solomon etc were probably the best insights into the team.

WTOP has a few posters still floating around but most of them are on the tech side and not the on air talent.

Hopefully someone will pick up the reigns to keep us posted on all that is Laker hockey. We've had a good 10 years dating back to oneto7, GLM, GreatLaker'06 to myself, nysportsfan, Maloney, TOPdirectoremeritus, JMD09 etc.

Darn, so we're not going to have any more "great and insightful" arguments about WNYO vs. WTOP?

In all seriousness that sucks because by the end of last season OSUpbpMike was really starting to come into his own on the board. While I've always been appreciative of how good of media coverage Oswego has been, outlawing the sportscasters from posting here isn't the greatest idea. Some of the most constructive criticism was here last year and I think the Q & A from the student media on here really helped out the broadcasts and listeners, in my opinion.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the season because even though a strong senior class and Selleck departed, this team is still balanced and has a ton of potential. Unfortunately, I won't be getting to many games this season, but I'm sure I'll get my fix somehow. Maybe WTOP will somehow raise a little money to put on a couple of more webcasts this year? :)

The most ones left I saw last were singles in the "enemy territory" section. In about 10-15 minutes after the box office opened yesterday, the term describing Platty tickets online was..."limited". They were snapped up in a hurry.

It sounds as though conversations on here will be relegated solely to discussions on eyewitness accounts and news clippings then, doesn't it. Might as well close up shop until the games begin. Sorry about the badgering, all.:( I was a bit taken aback by the silence, but the motives are clear now, so...

I hear you hcky2 - leaving the student section stinks enough as it is, let alone getting back for games. If the webcasts don't freeze and crash too much, its all good.

Re: Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

As of 7:30am, 10/6/10, after I bought my tickets, the only seat remaining in area 52 was D5. (For Laker Men vs. Plattsburgh
on Saturday November 6 2010 at 7:00 PM of course).

Might be tough since Norwich will more than likely be #1 and they don't play their first game until Nov. 19. I can't imagine them losing the #1 ranking without playing a game.
