Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

Oswego had a 10 game win streak in 02-03, and a 17 game unbeaten streak in 06-07

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

Really? What would that be? He was arrested and arraigned. That doesn't just happen to someone walking down the sidewalk. Let me guess, you are waiting for "the rest of the story" about O.J. as well.

Unless of course you want to argue that the Oswego Police Dept. targets Canadians in one giant profiling conspiracy.

Yes, that's it.

Brett Favre, Tim Tebow, and Ryan Woodward. The modern day Holy Trinity.

Well, Hockeyguy you sound like you do not want a trial for him just lock him up, how un-American of you.
Personally I think it was a prank gone bad and he needs to answer for his actions.

Brett Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, and Tim Tebow was born in Manila, Philippines and lets throw in Tiger Woods he was born in Cypress, California
doesn't look like Canada to me
BTW O.J. is now locked up so what are you complaining about don't you read the papers?

1) A prank? Really? And what basis do you make this claim? Oh wait I forgot, the Hero of Oswego couldn't possibly commit a crime. It must have been a prank, how utterly foolish of me.

2) I didn't realize that Favre, Tebow, and Woods not being Canadian had anything to do with whether or not the Oswego Police Dept. profiles Canadians. Also, in case you didn't notice, I wasn't being serious.

3) I didn't realize O.J. is serving time for murder. Last I checked he was found innocent. His actions taken after the fact that has landed him in the paddy wagon are irrelevant. Nysportsfan29 stated that you are innocent until proven guilty. I asked him if that meant that he though O.J. was innocent despite, as he pointed out, writing a book all but saying he did it.

But of course, none of this matters because it obviously was just some childhood prank. I'll keep that in mind the next time I slip a whoopee cushion onto my friends chair. I wouldn't want to end up in the slammer for fraudulent gas.

You brought them up when you said that the Oswego Police Dept. targets Canadians you wrote it not me, I threw in Woods just for flavor.

AND BTW he was found Not Guilty, not found innocent big difference.

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

Interestingly enough, O.J. was found guilty of negligence in the deaths of his ex and Ron Goldman in civil court which is why he had to pay their families millions while escaping life in prison.

"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit."

Re: Oswego State 2009-10 Regular Season Thread

I called it like I saw it... going of Musselwhite's skate and in...

I heard them give it to Dormeidy but assumed they'd change it eventually and then noticed the next day that they had

Not to bring up an old issue, but this bothers me:

Oh, so you're just flat out lying to your listeners. Sure you were right in the end, but not at the time. And we all know what happens when a news agency reports false information (read: 2000 Presidential Election)

Please tell me you did not just compare miscrediting a goal with falsely declaring someone president of the united states.

Good freaking lord, can I transfer my diploma to another school? Anyone?

I don't understand. Keeley saw the puck go in off of Musselwhite's skates, then relayed that info to his listeners. And because the official scorekeeper (the SID, who is often looking down at his/her laptop entering data into STAT Crew) did not get it right at first, Keeley is a liar?

Let's go back to last season's whiteout game. Oswego is down 0-2 and Brendan McLaughlin knocks the puck past Brian Hince off of his skates. That's what I see, that's what I call:

That's also what the WTOP video shows (:40 mark).

To this day, the box score shows Peter Magagna scoring on an assist from Brendan McLaughlin
So, you've seen the video. Who lied?

Sure did. Might wanna transfer that diploma anyway though as they are synonymous in Oswego.
I'm...not quite sure what you were trying to say there?

Fortunately for me, when I graduated from Oswego, they still taught critical thinking, logic, and reason. (While some might argue that I didn't actually *learn* any of these things, it does not change the fact that they were taught :p)

Unfortunately for a decent number of folks on this board, it seems they stopped teaching those things sometime in the past 5 years.

Aren't the official scorers (for goals and assists anyway) the referees and the people in the officials box between the penalty boxes? And then the SID and staff use that as part of their box scores

From my experience as an assistant in the SID office, the home SID has the final say on the scoring.

I'm the guy who does the stats on the computer. Yes, the officials down there have the final say on goals, assists and penalties. Nothing gets uploaded to collegehockeystats.net until I see the official scoresheet and make sure that my stats in those categories match theirs.

As for the goal, it was clearly in off Musselwhite's skate. I was amazed when they didn't give it to him initially. Keeley is just a few feet down from me, so if I saw it, I see no problem with him seeing it. I knew it was Musselwhite's goal, but I have to enter what the officials downstairs say. It usually gets fixed by the end of the game (whether by asking players or reviewing replays), as it did this time.

I'm not saying what Keeley saw or didn't see, I clearly wasn't there so I'm in no position to make that argument. All I'm saying is that as far as the stats said at the time, it was wrong. If somebody was following the game on wnyo's webcast AND getting live stats updates on college hockey stats online "(AKA the world's greatest website)," it could have been confusing.

I don't see what the problem is here. Was he supposed to somehow predict that the officials would initially get it wrong and purposely make the wrong call? He made the call when the goal was scored, not 30 seconds later, when the official scoring was relayed to the press box. You said he was lying to the listeners and compared it somehow to the 2000 election.

Maybe in a season where there isn't too much to complain about we need some conflict, however petty, eh?

And to nitpick, collegehockeystats.net doesn't have live updates.

EDIT: And to nitpick further, I initially scored it as a goal for Musselwhite before hearing the announcement, so the live feed said it was his goal for a few seconds before it was changed. So really, he was right when he said it.
