Oswego Lakers 2023-24...Light The Lamp.....Lets go Lakers!!!!!!!!

A good test for the Lakers last night. Coach did a good job for instilling discipline for they for the most part the Lakers didn't fall into the crap Anna played after their time out. The roughing and game Misc on our captain was a terrible call. Once again the instigator gets off w/o a penalty. From the start of the game Anna targeted Shane Bull until the got a 5 min major. Then they targeted our captain. Our play in the first was a pleasure to watch. Showed what this team can do, just didn't continue. Gotta give props to Anna's goalie. He made some great saves Big game tonight for M'ville seems to give us fits.

looked like a pretty good game from my computer chair, team looks like they have come together and are willing to play wherever is needed,i.e on D and watch each others back....Yup need to suck it up when the shit goes down and get payback at a later time, take one for the team as they say.....Henessey their net minder played well, but every time I saw his nameplate I wanted a drink ;-))).........I think we had 3 on the PP, but would like to see a man IFO the net screening the goalie, we also were using a new breakout from what I saw hanging one forward high in the neutral zone, seemed to work well.....A fast start tonight would be good......crowd looked good and WTOP did a great job on the call THANKS...Go Lakers!!!

also shoutout to tim costello who predicted the outcome of the game exactly in his d3 weekly game picks "The other TRAP GAME ALERT on the schedule as this game means a lot to the AmCats and not so much to the Lakers who are looking to get on a run in SUNYAC action. The home team takes advantage of several power play opportunities and that is the difference on the scoreboard – Oswego, 5-3"

Ok took care of business, many grade A scoring chances, we will have to capitalize on those vs the top teams...We look very much together as a team, not as many oddment rushes which is good...Andreacchi's goal was nice and he has done well back on D let's keep the shots from the point down so we can get a tip or rebound.....looked like a nice size crowd.......Bport tied Platty the other day so should be a tough game, before heading to The Ira........Go Lakers!!!!!!

Anna Maria looked like the old Adrian on Friday- goons. Not a good look, not an entertaining game to watch. I heard that their coach got a technical after the game for laying his hands upon an official. Glad we kept our heads- literally. And we survived Morrisville at home, always a good thing.

In the M-ville game Oswego was called for a double fault faceoff violation. That's the second time I've seen Oswego called on that, never seen an opponent called. Not my favorite penalty. It's not a personal violation like slashing, tripping, crosschecking, etc. I don't think it deserves the team being down a man. I would rather see the the team at fault have to clear the zone and the other team get free possession of the puck.

The goal judge scott told me the Anna Maria coach got a penalty for saying something to the ref, i have a feeling it was both laying hands and saying something

Yes Anna did not look to skilled, but their goalie was very good and kept them in the game......That penalty is bogus for sure, punishment does not fit the crime,I am with ya.........

backdraft- I'm told by someone who knows that this one wasn't the "double fault" type of penalty, rather the player's hand touched the puck before his stick did and so it was more like a direct hand pass. I can live with that.

Oz mens tennis has announced theyre joining the empire 8 as an affiliate member. I highly doubt this move alone signals were leaving the sunyac soon, it does show oz and the empire 8 are working closer together now which could lead somewhere. Id imagine the school is hedging their bets in case something else comes up in the future

Are they even in a conference now? Looks like the men's tennis team has six matches scheduled in 2023-24 and three of them were last September. They are already an affiliate member of the Empire 8 for golf. I doubt this changes anything overall...

That's what I'm saying right now it's pretty meaningless but in the future if things progress learning towards the empire 8, this could be seen as the 1st baby step im sure in these meetings tennis wasnt the only thing they discussed.

This doesn't mean anything. There is no SUNYAC men's tennis. Going to the Empire 8 is their only option.

And the SUNYAC football playing schools (except Buffalo State) have been part of the Empire 8 for years.

Well uh, that was certainly one of the wilder and wacky games in recent memory. Onto Morrisville I geuss???(Side note the anna maria captain should become a politician because every time the play stopped he gave the ref a 2 min lecture how did he not get a delay of game)

You guys are always on here complaining about the officiating at Oswego and now I know why! Friday's crew was the worst I have seen at the NCAA level in a very long time.

That was some of the worst NCAA officiating I have ever seen. That crew was terrible.
