Oswego 2011 Playoff and Offseason Thread: Hips and Nips or We Don't Win!

Re: Oswego 2011 Playoff and Offseason Thread: Hips and Nips or We Don't Win!

gonna ask this again, why no Leimbrock and HVB in the past few games/weeks, injury or just a healthy sit-downs, Leimbrock was a stud last yr and in the playoffs, they could have used him against a pretty big freddy team last week??????

No idea why they were not in the lineup, they didn't look like they were injured. I think Eddie sat them against Brockport for playing like crap against Morrisville and then the success of that weekend led to the lineup you saw Saturday. Unless they were hurt or out for disciplinary reasons, they should have been in the lineup and should be in the NCAA's as well.

I would think that because they have been playing like crap and more then likely not working hard in practice you won't see them on the ice in the future until, at the very least, they start working hard in practice.

Easy killer. I didn't even say anything. :D

Don't worry, I'm not going to challenge you to a fight or anything. Just saying I stand behind what I say. In the words of the great Tom Petty: "I won't back down."

You're fine. I was just joking around.

Does anybody know if Plattsburgh and Oswego have ever met in the Final Four or National Championship other than 87's title game?

I can't recall ever hearing/seeing anything about the two teams meeting up in the semi's or finals other than 87.

I noticied this was also the off season thread as well so hear goes, not that our recruiting has been sub-par,far from it, but it looks like we have alot of guys from the same area/league, it seems like a bunch of other SUNYAC teams have gone ALL over North America to recruit, and some even have guys from Sweden, still think Jensen would look better in green and gold, any thoughts on expending our recruiting area, or are there limits to what we can do?? Or is it if aint broke dont fix it?? I'm just hopeing we are not missing out on haveing a mix of different styles of hockey players......we always have to look to get better as I think many of the SUNYAC schools have in the past few yrs......just say'in......

From what I've seen Gosek brings in players that are leading scorers, leaders, have been involved in league or national championships or all of the aformentioned. It appears he tries to focus on team players for the most part. You have a valid point but he has a budget to work with. I don't believe in the philosophy of "It ain't broke, don't fix it" because you should always be looking for ways to improve. Complacency is not a good element to have if you want championships.

Perhaps they have to go all the way to Sweden...not because they want to...?:D:rolleyes:

International athletes in D3 usually comes from a personal connection - a coach who played there or brings teams over to compete, an alum who faciltitates (scholarship) students from a particular country or region etc. Manhattanville has several players from the Ukraine - they came from US prep schools...

Very true. Likewise, Gosek has a lot of seeds planted in the Ontario province which allows him to get some of the best D3 recruits there. IIRC, he said he'd be in Ottawa on a scouting trip and I don't think he goes much further than Quebec. Who and where he recruits I'm sure has a lot to do with the state the roster is in as well as budgetary restraints. Many of his trips were on Sun/Mon because (obviously) the team plays on Fri/Sat. This also lead to him not being able to make a lot of Monday classes, which I was totally fine with :D

Any headway on Horns for Hope with Mr. Hale, Lou??
