Perhaps they were instructed to leave the ice by the officials. I have seen that happen before.

In the past after a game such as this the officials order the visiting team off the ice at the buzzer. They may not have had a choice. Don't make any assumptions.

And as someone at the game said, " Utica fans throwing crap AT the Elmira PLAYERS" Yep, lots of class up there. Gotta love those rinks that sell beer, keep the alcoholics happy and the area full.

I agree. There was a lot of unnecessary stuff from both sides tonight, and the crap throwing may have been the worst of it. Felt like I called a boxing match tonight.

I believe it is traditional not to shake hands after the first game of a back to back series

Beer didn't have any effect on to it. Stuff thrown looked to be by high school aged kids. They weren't real bright about it either as they were tossing the chuck-a-pucks which are numbered and are tied to their names when they buy them. Most of the offenders were escorted out of the building by the UPD. People around them were pointing them out to the police.

Also the officials called off the handshake. Both teams started to line up but the refs sent them off the ice. Would let UC do their stick salute at center ice either.

Oh, crap....you caught me Ray. :o I had both servers pulled up at one time, but had the other guys playing toward the end of the game. It was their feed that went dead in mid sentence. Went right back to you, however.

95% certain you can sit with me if you wish. (Pretty good seats, not a lot of crap throwing, drunk, un-hockey-knowable folks around me. :D In fact the only time there was a pretty wasted guy around me was when I let a guy from Oswego sit next to me who pulled out a hip flask during the 1st period and started on the hard stuff.....really?.......you're not in Oz anymore, you don't need to sneak the stuff into the building :rolleyes: ) Of course, you may want to ask the Prez if I am a bum or not.........:p
