It's hard to be too artistic on choppy ice against a good-tackling team.
This wasn't a flag-happy crew. You get what you get in the WCHA, and teams just have to try to play through it. It seems that one difference between the Buckeyes overall in the second half as opposed to the first is that Knapp isn't at quite the same level. Had she been locked in today, who knows what would have happened. Wasn't Noora's greatest game of her career either. These quick turnarounds don't always make for the best hockey.Good one, although I noticed no clipping penalties.
Plenty of questionable calls and non-calls both ways, so no yelling to be done today.Plenty from officials for CD to advise on I think.
Surprised that Eeyore hasn't posted this on the message board, but he and I both agree that the game turned significantly when Kelly Terry and Julia McKinnon took the coincidental roughing minors 6 1/2 minutes into the second period. That just seemed to spark the Gophers, particularly during the resulting 4-on-4 but it carried over for the rest of the game.
