Box score has it as a slash.Tarr goes for "taunting" and...what's that about?
Got to give props for the OSU staffer who arranged their warmup pucks to read "Thank U." to their seniors.
Many thanks. Fun chatting with you in person. Hope to see your team in Duluth in three weeks ('cause that will likely mean I won't be seeing a certain other team). Thanks to all the Minnesota folks who made it down and said hello! CrazyDave and BozIce99, safe travels for you, and good luck the rest of the season! That is one heck of a team/program you have there. I am sure you are very proud of the Gopher Hockey tradition. I hope Coach Handrahan can get our program to that level someday. Take care guys!
Memo to osualum86: In the Twin Cities the local Big 10 University is known as "The U." So CrazyDave's comment is actually a good-natured little jab, suggesting that the pucks were created with Minnesota in mind.Got to give props for the OSU staffer who arranged their warmup pucks to read "Thank U." to their seniors.
Actually, no, I was being straight-up with my original comment. I was impressed with the creativity to come up with that design -- I even took a picture of it for my records.Memo to osualum86: In the Twin Cities the local Big 10 University is known as "The U." The pucks are still cool; CrazyDave just found an unintended double-meaning.
I'm familiar, and think your characterization is fair.My experience with Minnesota being "The U", is that it is only used in a local context. As in ...
"Where did your children attend college?"
"Our older daughter went to Mankato, and our son attended St. Thomas, and now Susie is going to the 'U'."
Strongly agree! It isn't like the Miami of Florida football players who get in front of a national audience and say "The U," just daring anyone to ask, "And where would that be?"
Yeah, C.D. just tries to make opposing goalies and on-ice officials feel bad.To clarify, at no point in time did I believe that Crazy Dave was trying make '86 feel bad.

Good luck this weekend in Madison.
That, and the fact that you're right on top of the game action. Gotta believe that having that close overview of the play was very appealing to a broadcaster, and for that reason the lack of a cushy broadcast booth wasn't an overriding concern.Must say, I wasn't totally disappointed in the rink you have there. Obviously, there are some shortcommings compared with the other rinks, but there are some little nuances that kind of make it charming. I liked the stairs to the locker room and the unique perspective that the press box gives you being right over the benches.
Appreciate that; best of luck against UND.I haven't heard that kind of jaw-jacking between players and teams in a while. It was a neat experience.
If nothing else, it still sure does beat All Seasons in Mankato.
