Season changing win? We will see.... No question though a huge much needed win they can use a springboard for the rest of the season. John Albert, Mathieu Picard-amazing effort tonight.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Good effort in both games this weekend and good results on Friday. This was the effort I had hoped to see all season but was totally missing in action against Q. Heeter was very impressive and if OSU plays Denver down the road this season I hope Markell doesn't forget that Heeter is now 2-0 in his career against the Pioneers.:D

The lack of effort against Q dug a deep hole and one win against Denver doesn't mean the team managed to climb out of it. They need two wins next weekend at Lake State and at least a split the following weekend in South Bend.

Totally agree with everything you said here. A sweep is a must against a team they will be better than next week. I wasnt at the game last night but i was very happy with teh effort on Thursday if we continue to get that kind of effort from them it will be a successfull season.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Much needed win. Just shows you this team can play with anyone one. Nice thing about hockey, you have the beginning of the season, then the regular season, conference playoffs, then the tourney. A lot of ways to redeem yourself.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

This team needs someone to step up as leader/Captian.

Four players wore "A"s on their jerseys, designating them as alternate captains, last week vs. Quinnipiac

I think is kind of what i said in post #222, or at least what i meant.
Piccard, Albert And Dalpe looked liked they just might step up.

surprised to see the score over Denver...congrats...looks like your program is starting to develop into a good one over the past couple seasons

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Wow, what a totally different OSU team tonight!!! It seems like whenever I seem to give up hope on them, they come out and do something like they did tonight! Don't believe that Boyd or Bartkowski deserved to be kicked out of the game. Bucks finally learned to pick up the pucks and throw them on net. Heeter had a good game and some amazing saves.

Also, I thought the DU guys had a lack of class. After the big fight in the second, one of the DU guys in the box sprayed water at a bunch of 11 year olds who were yelling at them. In understand they were probably frustrated because they were down, but that does not give you a right to take it out on little kids. It angered me that Bartkowski got thrown out, but their guys who were fighting just as much and taunting the crowd got to spend their time in the box and return to the game.

But the 11 yr old kids have the right to heckle the player like that though right??? Players can only take so much, but just because you pay to get into a game doesnt mean you can act like that.

With that said, he shouldn't of done it but you dont know what those kids were saying. If they were persistant and derogatory they probably deserved it.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Team-work = " SWEET WIN. " :)

The boys took it to Denver and " SPANKED " them in the BIG HOUSE.

I also look at the weekend series as you want nothing worse than a split.

I'm glad the Denver coach decided to try a different goalie on Friday. :D

Now the boys got a good taste of victory over a early ranked team like Denver. The mental pressure is off and the veteran players really stepped up and played.

" GO BUCKEYE , BUCKS. "

Thanks for the " PAT ON THE BACK." UND fan. :)

Get ready because we would love to come into your " HOUSE " on Thanksgiving weekend and steal a WIN or two. :eek ( Subway-Classic )

That weekend should be a great weekend with good hockey from all four teams. OSU , UND , BSU , Miami Ohio.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

#18 Quinnipiac is also doing well. We are glad that OSU beat Denver and we hope that you have a good season :) . We will see you again when we play you in lacrosse this season. May the best team win. Good luck.

Message to the BOYS , :)

Have a good week of hard practice. :D

Bring the team-work effort to next weekends series against LSSU.

Be thinking nothing worse than a split series. Get that WIN on Friday night and then go for the " SWEEP " on Saturday night.

Lose Friday night and the pressure is on for the split.

Are you serious? I was sitting right behind these kids. They were just 11 year old boys being 11 year old boys. Its not like they were dropping F bombs, flicking him off, mooning him, etc. If they would have done something like that I would have told them to stop. They started more chants and were having more fun than anyone in the building. If some adult was messing with him thats different. If a player is that bothered by a little kid then he needs to toughen up instead of squirting water on them which the linesman had to stop. Let me add I don't think the kids were that upset about it lol.

That's how I feel. If a fan thinks that attending an athletic event is a partcipatory experience in regards to (an antagonizing) interaction with the players, then getting some water doused upon them is the least of what they probably deserve.

Where do we draw the line? Does the age of the fan matter? Any game has fans heckling a goalie. Are you saying that should be stopped? I've never had seats by the penalty box that has allowed me to talk to players in the box, but giving players some grief for breaking the rules seems alright with me. I guess I'm just interested in where you(or any of you) draw the line between what is ok and what isn't.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Do any of you " OLD TIMERS " remember the game in the NHL that a fan was heckling / poured beer on a Boston Bruins player? I can't remember if the player was in the penalty box , on the bench or going on or off the ice.

The player and his team-mate climbed up into the stands with there skates on and took the shoe off of the fan and started to beat him with it.

Relax, OSUmab. I think what redhawkman10 is really upset about is that a bunch of eleven year olds were coming up with their own original chants, instead of parroting Michigan's cheers like they do at that school down south. :p

:D

Quite honestly those kids were the life of a rather small party. The organized chants were clearly appropriate, not borderline in any way. Far from being a problem, we need more of that kind of energy.

Now it's certainly possible that one or two kids stepped over the line talking to the players in the penalty box. I was nowhere near the boxes so I can't be sure on that. But it's just as possible that the DU player in question needs to develop a little thicker skin.

I'd go this far. Ideally fans should chant from their seats. Security shouldn't allow anyone to make contact with glass at the benches or penalty boxes for the purpose of creating a confrontation. But I find it hard to believe that these kids were engaged in any sort of "threatening" behavior.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Kids will be kids and collage players will be kids also. :D

I think this " WATER SQUIRTING " issue is kinda cute. The kids were poking a little fun at the player in the box and he squirted a little stream of water at them.

I think it would of been wrong if he flipped the middle finger at the kids. See it always can be worse. :p
