Ohio State 2026-27 The Natty WILL be ours!

Hockeybuckeye, it was good to see your wife at the game last night. She is in our thoughts and prayers! It was probably a good decision for her to sit today's game out with the football fiasco and the rain.

The Buckeyes completed the sweep of Wisconsin earlier today with a 5-3 victory. Unlike yesterday's game, there were five goals scored in the first period of this one. Cassie Hall opened the scoring for the Badgers to put them up 1-0. Ohio State would score the next three goals to go up 3-1. The Buckeye goals were scored by Sanni Vanhanen, Kaia Malachino, and Kate Viel. Wisconsin's Madelyn Kimbrel scored later in the first period to send the teams into the first intermission with Ohio State leading 3-2. Laney Potter scored early in the second period to tie things up at 3 and that is how the period ended. Hilda Svensson scored for Ohio State just ten seconds into the final period to put the Buckeyes up 4-3. Sanni Vanhanen added her second goal later in the period to make the final score 5-3. The Buckeyes outshot the Badgers in this one 34-25. Ohio State's Rowan Houweling stopped 22 of the 25 shots she faced to get the win. Ava McNaughton stopped 29 of the 34 shots she faced. Ohio State will travel to Minnesota next weekend to take on the Gophers. Wisconsin will return home to host Minnesota State next weekend.

Saturday Quick Take: More risk-taking; more offense. But ultimately another dominant 3rd Period leads to another Buckeye Win. Friday Shots? 19-3 OSU. Saturday Shots? 17-6 OSU. Not a bad recipe for a Sweep.

#3 Star: Laney Potter, Wisconsin
(The Dynamic Potter Quarterbacks The Badgers)

#2 Star: Hilda Svensson, Ohio State
(Another Day; Another GWG)

#1 Star: Sanni Vanhanen, Ohio State
(The Only Player With 2 Goals. Initial Tally Tied The Game 1-1. Wicked Good Tip Closed Out The Scoring.)

Bottom Line? Stressful Hockey Pleasure!
