Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

Re: Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

If the coaches feel that too many calls were wrong they have a recourse. There's a video guy who has nothing left to do who can prove it one way or the other by looking at videos. If they have a case they can submit it to the B1G and let them look at it. If they don't then it's just *****ing.

Now we need someone to kidnap Healey, Brevig and Schilkey to make certain that no pro team can convince them to forgo their senior leave.
Lets not forget one fact, the B1G head of officiating didn't like us when he was on the ice as a CCHA ref and I doubt he likes us much more now. So if that is true how far will our complaints go?
I think someone else as head of B1G officiating would have been better.

Who is the BIG Ten head of hockey officials? Is it still Piotrowski? If so, then yeah, no point in complaining to him.

Yeah, it's Pio. I clearly recall one of our former players back in the CCHA days saying he was going to stick a puck in one of Pio's ears some game before he left the program.
Sadly he never did, I would have given a paycheck to see it!

Re: Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

Most of you have probably already seen this, but I came across an interesting article regarding the state of the OSU men's hockey program. I didn't necessarily agree with the title regarding the program continuing "forward progress," but there were some good points in the article, and I thought the last paragraph was spot on regarding being optimistic, but at the same time, needing to see something tangible next season to prove that the program actually is moving forward. Overall, I actually thought it was a well-written article. When I saw the title, my first thought was that it was going to be a bunch of sugarcoating about our second losing season in a row, but that was not the case. In other news, congratulations to Boston College, Denver, North Dakota, and Quinnipiac for earning spots in the Frozen Four. I hope I live long enough to see Ohio State get to another Frozen Four (one appearance in 1998, for those who are not familiar with the history of the program).

Good post. Thanks for the link to the story! I was able to pass it on to some of our oldest hockey team alums who found it very interesting.

You're welcome, Hockeybuckeye. I thought it was a good article. I'll have to watch for more articles from Eleven Warriors.

The only thing I didn't like is we don't appear to have any big guys 6'4" and up in the pipeline. They're a tremendous assest on PP defense and to stand someone up crossing your blue line.

Re: Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

I see where next season opens with the Ice Breaker tournament in Denver instead of the home/home with Miami. Other three teams are Denver, Air Force and Boston College.

Re: Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

Also not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but apparently Osiecki is going to be an assistant under Granato at Wisco next year. This will be his second stint as an assistant for the Badgers: [ Story ]

Re: Ohio State 2015-2016 Season

Have they released next year's full schedule?

No, those are the only two games so far and that info came from Air Force.

Unless there is an upheaval you can pretty much count on a home and home with Miami and one with Bowling Green. Other than that it will probably be June before the rest is announced, if not later.

I read that last week. It didn't really surprise me at all. Osiecki is a good coach. Things didn't work out for Osiecki here, but he's a good coach.

The home game with Miami is Dec 31st why would they schedule that game on this date when the Football team could be playing in the playoffs? Once again putting the hockey team in a spot where no one will be in attendance unless you count miami fans.

Haha hockey's a winter sport. Football's supposed to be a fall sport. As far as I'm concerned move the d*mn football game.
