The only Shirley I will be having is another Shirley Temple at the club level of the Schott every time Czarnik and Barber turn your star net minder into jelly... :D:p

I was just thinking how quirky the schedule is the next 3 weeks. RMU home tonight-then travel to Pitt for part 2 vs RMU. A home weekend with Miami. After Christmas break play Miami, in Pitt-hosted by RMU. Then RMU again or PSU. Got it?

Go Bucks here's to another great weekend!

Sorry for the thread invasion, but serious question for you guys.

I hear his Royal Bow Tie-ness (Gee) was on C-Bus sports radio today predicting superconferences operating outside NCAA governance within 5 years. I don't know how much you guys have kicked this idea around, but would that esentially be the end of hockey (and lacrosse?) at B1G schools/Boston College/Notre Dame/UCONN? Would they form a leauge of 9 and skate around with each other for six months then have a tournament?

Is there any precedent for playing certain sports in the NCAA and others in a seperate league such as the one he's hoping will form for revenue sports? I can't imagine the NCAA would be overly thrilled with the idea. Just curious what you all thought of the issue.

I thought the NCAA would still govern it, just pay may be involved, no?

I think, all college athletics will go as football goes. So if you have 'super conferences' those are going to be a lot of the super power schools in other sports. So I would say all the sports would switch to whatever the new governing system is. OR, more likely, the NCAA will amend bylaws so that the new football super conference can do what they please.

Unreal! that pretty sums up this loss for me. Two 5 minute PP's and not only do they not score they also give up another shorty. That makes 3 shorty's on major PP's this year. Giving up that goal with under a minute to go in the 1st also is a killer. Listening on the radio it seemed they just went through the motions for much of the game until the last 8 minutes when they had numerous chances to tie up the game. I dont want to bring up last year but this is how all of that mess started. Hope they regroup and make it a split of the weekend tomorrow.

Pretty dissapointed in this loss. I can't blame Hjelle for any of the goals. Poor clearance popped up again tonight including on the RMU gwg. Puck seems to hate our sticks- need better handling somehow- and stop passing to skates. After we fell behind we really turned it on but you have to credit the RMU goalie. Try to bounce back Sat.

The refs really annoyed me tonight- bad both ways. Not every loud check or hit is a penalty, hockey glass is loud. They were passing out majors like candy. Maybe one was deserving. Speaking of, get 2 major pp's score 0 and give up a shortie. PP was out of sync again tonight.

I hear ya. What a UGLY loss to RMU. The Bucks played sellfish & would go to the net & not even pass to the open guy in front for a easy goal. Very sellfish play & lazy back checking. Looks like the Bucks got caught with there pants down thinking this was going to be a easy WIN. It happens in hockey all the way from youth to the pros.
I'm just glad this game was for pride & not for CCHA points.

They played a weaker opponent soft and without serious effort until late in the 3rd but the officiating was horrendous with terrible calls going both ways!
We could have wrapped this game up with a bow on it in the 1st with some focused and coordinated offense.

From what i can gather listening to the game they played better in spurts but to not win a game this weekend is very disappointing. Back to league play next weekend hosting the Hawks. They split with Lake St. so they will be an angry bunch coming in. With tonight's results the Buckeyes are in 4th place 2 points behind Western for 3rd.

It was available on pay per view and I caught most of the 2nd period on. Too many low percentage shots and bad placement, never shooting for top shelf corners. Easy to make a goalie look better that he is when you keep drilling him in the breadbasket. Oz must have really wanted to make up for last night as Brady was back in net tonight.
Our 2nd goal was a sweet one, winning the faceoff with the puck coming straight back to Dalrymple who ripped a quick wrister into the net before the goalie could react.
At least RM provided the ref's tonight who were MUCH better than their CCHA counterparts.
Still a disappointing weekend when after the sweep of the Spartans I had thought we had turned the corner.

UGLY weekend of hockey. This kinda play reminds me of last seasons second half melt down. I think I will have NIGHTMARES sleeping tonight. :D

Let's see how much of a team we can be , man up and bounce back next weekend. Go BUCKS Go.

Im glad you said that before me about the 2nd half. This is exactly how all of that started but i am still confident they will get atleast 1 victory next weekend.

We'd better do well if we don't want the Miami trolls having their fun. At least they have nothing to brag about tonight either.

I hear ya , Eh. If we learn from this weekends loss & tie , then it wasn't a total waste. I hope it was just growing pains. They got one more weekend before Christmas break to prove themselfs.

Robert Morris' record in the Schott is 3-0-0.

For 75% of the game on Friday there was no team on the ice - only some individual players wearing OSU sweaters. Gonna have to pick them to lose twice this coming weekend.:mad:

I dont think they will get swept this weekend and i hate to pick splits because i am so bad choosing which game for each team.

After the weekend vs Robert Morris, I will settle for three points vs Miami next weekend. Hope the series vs Robert Morris wasn't the start of a bad thing.

I won't settle for 3, we should ALWAYS have 6 in our house.
