Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Used my PowerUpRewards points from Gamestop to buy TW 12 Collector's Ed. (PS3) for cheaper than normal. Plus I asked the guy for the 2 pre-order courses (Turnberry, Bethpage?) and he gave me the code. So that worked out well.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

No way in hell was ME2 better than one. Ugh.

Yeah, it was. Both were a little short for my taste (think I finished each in well under 20 hours of playing time), but ME2 was overall a much better game than one. Hoping 3 puts a little more RPG back into the mix, but I won't complain if the gameplay is substantially the same as ME2.

4th Hole at Hazeltine (Par 3, 160yds) and i get a Hole In One on a custom shot with an 8 iron. :D

Probably my 13th total hole of golf played on TW12.

Hahaha, nice. I holed out from the bunker on probably my 2nd or 3rd hole.

I've found Tour Pro to be a happy medium between challenging and not quite frustrating. It makes putting plenty difficult (no putt preview), and maintains a large landing circle on shots. Eventually I'd like to up it to Tour, but we'll wait on that for a while yet.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Has anyone actually ever played a course feature in a Tiger Woods (or any golf game)? I know we have some golfers (including me) and some courses featured are publicly accessible (not necessarily affordable).

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

So. Since last summer, when my friend got me hooked on FIFA, I have barely played anything else. Quite surprising how addicting it is.

I bought Black Ops within a month of it's release, but have only played about 7 hours of Multiplayer. Nothing against the game...its just, I love FIFA.

I threw it in yesterday because EA's servers were being annoying...and I realized, I need to play more. I played quite well. K/D of 5.5 for the evening in TDM. Spy Plane, Napalm, Chopper Gunner.

And today it was back to FIFA. :P I was down 3-0 in the 62nd minute today...and had a great comeback. I recorded it too...

Hazeltine would be my only chance really since its in Chaska, MN. But i have not played it. Mostly because I am a hack (due to playing rarely).

I've played Dubsdread (Cog Hill #4 Course) several times while I was caddying there... Not a TW course, but was available for the Links game on the PC...

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

So far the only parts of Tiger Woods 12 I don't like are these:

- The caddy gives bad info on putts unless you have passed at least bronze course mastery (and more likely silver). I get that he is supposed to be learning the course with you. But it's annoying for him to say "aim a cup outside to the left" and it really needs to be 4 feet to the left. It would be less annoying if the next part wasn't true.

- The Putt preview/Focus system when putting makes no sense. If I hit focus twice or more on a hole to try to setup my shot it may move wildy from spot to spot (instead of just slightly as would be expected). Also, why do I seem to only get a putt preview twice on the back 9 of a course, but on nearly every hole of the front nine. It seems very random. I thought it had to do with the colored meter, on the aiming gauge, but its not consistent to me.

Otherwise when everything is working, it is great fun. I can hardly wait for the day when I don't need the caddy and putt preview system at all. I'm still not there yet on reading greens without help. But I am great at setting up shots prior to the greens.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Don't think I've seen much posted in this thread on it, but is anyone going to be checking out Skyrim? I loved Morrowind and Oblivion. I just got back into Oblivion a few weeks ago when I saw Skyrim announced...it had been over 2 years since my last saved game! Guess life and an infant will do that to ya... :o

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Not much to say about Skyrim when it's still 7 months from release. But there are a few of us who are interested in it. I know I posted the trailer awhile back when it was first released. But there hasn't been that much other news.

Anonymous Targets Sony and PlayStation

Thanks Anonymous. Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us. It's one thing to target a d-bag cult that acts like a religion but another to act against a corporation that's just trying to prevent basic theft.

Remember this when we all have to scan our fingerprints, eyes, and give a DNA sample just to play Call of Duty.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Ive got Tiger Woods 12...so if anyone wants to play a gentlemen's game online...add me to PS3. Sak8405

Anonymous is being kind of a giant dick in this, but considering it all started over Sony absolutely freaking out on a couple people who reopened up PS3's for an OS that it originally supported. They do kind of deserve to get a little screwed over. Ya know, because that guy is responsible for any and all illegal activities that may result from that by other people. (Even though there are completely legitimate reasons for using it)

And they're worse than Hitler for wanting to enjoy the product that they purchased.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Trying to complete the Masters Moments so I can qualify for this stupid tournament that is being played this weekend in my career mode:rolleyes::p I've "passed" all but 3 of them, and it's the only way I can qualify since I'm only #117th in the world, gotta be top #100.

Came 11 inches from holing out on one of the par 3's earlier today, and sank a 76 foot putt just an hour ago or so. Tour pro difficulty, I've found its almost a perfect mix of challenge and frustration, although this caddy must be blind with some of his reads on the green$$$.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Anyone play WWE All-Stars? I've heard good things, but I wanted to get some thoughts before I plunk the money down to get it. Thanks.

Sorry not supporting them on this. Is it wrong to go after a guy in such way? Yes. But don't let the rest of us suffer because you feel the need to "cure" an injustice which is basically what they've done by going after the PSN. Companies don't like being stolen from, which is what GeoHotz and the like are supporting whether they mean it or not, and when they do everybody suffers. Online passes? DRM? It's only gonna get worse.
