Official Thread of the Leftover League

Re: Official Thread of the Leftover League

Dirty has been studdying up on his geography. Well done dirty. I was thinking more like 230+ miles west. I am merely speculating. Regardless, he has been correct about one thing, that there has been a huge over reaction to the BTHC and the super conference is exactly just that.

St. Cloud is not that far west.

Re: Official Thread of the Leftover League

the welfare pigs/small schools are up in arms about there welfare fund being gone. Im not suprised.

Welfare? How much football welfare do the Gophers get? They haven't generated as much bowl revenue in their history as Wisconsin did LAST YEAR! Yet they get an equal share. In fact the share of bowl revenue Minnesota got from the Big 10 last year (and the year before and the year before...) is greater than any bowl revenue Goldy has kicked in any year ever. So you've shared some revenue in hockey, but you have taken in far more in football than you'll ever hope to earn. Please don't give the welfare lecture. You get plenty of it. And don't get me started on basketball...how many Final Fours have the Gophers made while sharing that revenue with the Michigan States of the world?

Re: Official Thread of the Leftover League

Wins are irrelevant, what matters is that their isn't any money in visiting those schools for either UW or UMN.

Not surprising though when you look at who said it. This dude has basically been preaching the end of the UND/UMN series. I get a kick out of it though because he acts like he knows exactly what the Minnesota athletic department will be doing.

SiouxFanatic please see Almington's post. Not that I like it but this is why the rivalry is dead.

Re: Official Thread of the Leftover League

Being able to play up to 38 regular season games isn't appealing enough to the leftovers to get them in?

Only if UA is willing to continue funding the other teams travel, then maybe. Otherwise, no.

It would be so nice to see it back in Marquette! It would also be nice to see a resumption of a trophy between Tech and NMU as well!
