I have been fortunate enough to have watch Potsdam for several games. If the Lakers play a disciplined game and don't get into the box they will beat Potsdam. Potsdam didn't look good in any of the games I have seen them play. Platty is a different story. Having seen Platty play in Primelink both games, the Lakers need to do several thing to have a chance to win this one. I know Norm will agree with me on this. Keep the Cards off the score board in the first. They seem to strike early and often then go into a shell. Get to Chewy often to make him work for a whole game, for he made everything look easy in the Primelink and he beat 2 very good teams. Lastly stay out of the box. If we do these 3 things I think we have a go chance. For those who haven't seen Platty yet you will be watching a very very good team. Who every is in goal for us better stand on his head to beat Platty.

The way Plattsburgh has been playing this year, I think all Oswego has to do is give them 3 quick goals. ANYTHING can happen when these 2 teams play - the biggest factor is "who wants it more - who will show up with their A game".

I chuckle at the "If Oswego does this right" and "we may have a chance" mumbo-jumbo !! I'm not buying it. The Lakers are a real threat and are still being considered the Cards main competition in our conference (with all due respect to Genny). The roles are reversed from last year in terms of Oswego vs. Plattsburgh. Last year the Cards took 2 of 3 against a Laker team that looked superior!!! With that in mind, the Cards will have to play their "A" game in order to win this one.

Added incentive for Lakers: playing #1, new kids out to prove themselves, win puts them right in the hunt, etc...this is a one-goal game !!

I would totally agree with your post ...........but for................netminding...........will be entertaining no matter what.....everybody drive safe

Admiral I guess you haven't seen 20+ years of the Platty/Laker games. Besides the last 4 years the Lakers has always been the underdog. For what ever reason the hockey gods look kindly on the Cards when they play us. I have seen to many of the games to say different. Also for some imaginable reason there seems to be some mental strength Platty has when they play us. BakDraft can speak better of this than I. This team has proved NOTHING this year to even think they are in the same class as Platty. Until they prove something, then I will look at the Lakers differently. This team is an upstart team and tons of potential. Hopefully they will be in Platty's class at the end of the year.

Sounds like Zawadski will be in net this weekend and for the foreseeable future. Gilbert has a finger injury that requires surgery. No idea how it happened or how long he'll be out.

Will Gilbert be dressing at all? The last time I looked at the roster there were only 2 goalies listed. If he isn't dressing who is the back up?

Gilbert will not be dressed if he requires surgery. Simon Jasmin is the number 3 so he'd be dressed as the backup.

the fun never ends.....hope it heals fast and we can resume goalie talk,best of luck to him on a speedy recovery.

You are so right !! I haven't been watching Laker/Card games for 20 years........more like 35 !!!

There are 3. Simon Jasmin is the 3rd. Make him now the backup.

Bears game plan....take out the goalie first thing. Kidding, looking forward to the game tonight. I have enjoyed watching games at the Campus Center in person, still say you guys have the best fries.

Who knows.... Lakers looked great, Potsdam looked bad. Nice power play tonight and I think the week off did them good. Tomorrow night will give us a good read on this team.

4 PPG, 1 shorty, 2 even....improvement on all fronts - Potsdam had some moments, but this game was never in doubt...today will be a true test for this young team...the opponent, the crowd, the atmosphere...a great night for hockey..... PS - ran into 4 recent Laker grads post game with a few hundred career points among them...alas, no eligibility left.

FYI. Greene's for lunch....1pm if anyone is around.
