really screwed me for fantasy, Mike Richards was on my bench:p Although he's done next to nothing, his SOG are key in my game this week!:p

Great start last night, that Letang shootout goal was just filthy. He's unbelievable in the shootouts.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

Gary Bettman was asked if the NHL could capitalize on the NBA lockout to gain fans. Nope:
Basketball fans are basketball fans & hockey fans are hockey fans.

Fire him. Most of them are SPORTS fans and will cheer for anyone wearing the right laundry. You think the NFL and MLB aren't going after NBA fans? Hell, I bet even MLS tries. But not the NHL. Even if you only get 1 in 20 those are huge numbers for the league. Bettman is seemingly happy to see the NHL lose even more ground and drop further into obscurity. :(

I've never really understood why people don't absolutely love hockey. If you take the time to watch a game, or if you ever get to a game, you have to think it's awesome?

(I understand we don't really have the huge history, etc like Canada, but still.)

If you go to a game it becomes much easier to love it. The problem is the game doesn't translate well to TV (HDTV is changing that, but there's only so much it can do) whereas football, baseball and hoops do. Soccer doesn't translate well to American TV because there are no commercial breaks, but broadcasters have found ways around that. Since the commissioner won't lead the charge, hopefully individual owners will seize on an opportunity to expand their brand. Give NBA season ticket holders a break on prices for partial season tickets to NHL games, vouchers for free/discounted team merchandise etc. There are many ways to get the fans in the seats. Once they've seen a game or two in person it becomes so much easier to follow on TV.

So when are you going to apply for the NHL's PR position? Great ideas.

The NHL wouldn't want me or my ideas...basketball fans are basketball fans after all.

My team's season FINALLY starts today! Are there any other St. Louis Blues fans out there?

I'd sign the petition to hire Priceless as Marketing Director. Bettman is probably on Stern's payroll still. :D
