Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread: Short People Leave Big Shoes to Fill

That was a two year span, in the late 90's it was dreadfull and even rico's first two years it wasn't all that good. When jones and Davis came thats when the atmophere went to a whole other level. But consistantly the atmospher at the new goggin is far better than the old goggin. For one its easier to get around and you can actually see in the first couple rows of the stands.

Are you trying to say you didn't like having to fight your way past the concession stand and through the five deep on the glass to get to our single restroom in the lobby? At least old goggin had a fireplace;)

If the student section could actually not be disrespectfull or have vulgar cheers the administration wouldnt get on them. Fact of the matter is they have proven over the last few years they can't do that and which is why the administration is cracking down because the fact of the matter is their behavior at times over the last 5 years has given miami a bad name. The kids brought it on themselves and if they were more responsable this wouldnt be going on.

Also Miami doesn't care about other hockey schools and how the behave, they care how they behave and are perceived...that arguement is a bad one. Miami has its standards and needs to live up to it what other schools do has no bearing on that.

When has the administration EVER actually tried to ask the students as a whole to clean up the cheers or anything else? Maybe they've approached individuals or confiscated some signs, but as far as I know they have never tried to communicate their expectations and ask the students to work with them. It has always been unilateral action without direct warning.

For real gas burning fireplace ala ski lodge style. It was pretty large in the center of the sitting area of the lobby. Totally forgot about that!!

That's legit. I can't disagree with that.

I thought that was a real strong start for the Red and White! Lots of speed, nice hearty hitting. Freshmen looked really good. Let's keep it up. Looked like BSU started to clog up the neutral zone there in the second half. got to break that a bit.

Looking for some instant feedback on the game. Work too late on the west coast to be able to watch these Friday games. Obviously a very disapointing finish, better not be a recurring theme.

Rough way to start. I thought we had to worry about our young offense, not our veteran defense... However, getting 2 of the 3 goals from freshmen is heartening. It's only the first game of a long season so hopefully it will provide some good lessons. Let's bounce back tomorrow and (re)set the tone for a great season. Go RedHawks!
